The path to the profession
At the beginning of his professional career, the doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences did not even think that he would have to engage in political activities. Vladimir Pavlovich Polevanov was born on November 11, 1949 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents at that time lived in Kharkov. My father worked in the lathe shop of the famous Hammer and Sickle plant. Mother is a nurse in the clinic. From an early age, the child was taught to be independent and responsible for his actions and deeds.
Vladimir helped the elders with the housework. Work in the garden did not bother him at all. He knew how to care for livestock and handled it on his own. The boy studied well at school. He actively participated in public life. I did sports. I was friends with my classmates. On the street he did not give himself offense. The teenager watched how his peers live, and what goals they set for themselves in the future. Already at school, Polevanov decided that he would study geology. In 1966 he received a certificate of maturity and entered the geological faculty of the local university.
Steep route
The biography of Vladimir Polevanov developed according to the standard scheme. Having received a diploma of higher education, he expressed a desire to exert his efforts in the northern territories. After some preparatory measures, he was sent to the infamous Magadan province. The young specialist arrived at his workplace as a mining foreman in a gold mine. It is important to note that Polevanov at all posts demonstrated a high level of competence and organizational skills.
He did not make a career, but sought to increase labor productivity and reduce the accident rate of mining operations. Vladimir Pavlovich took a creative approach to solving the assigned tasks. His rationalization proposal made it possible to almost triple the rate of penetration. At the same time, he achieved an increase in the salary of miners-tunnellers. A few years later he was appointed chief geologist of the expedition. Soon after that, Polevanov defended his Ph. D. thesis.
On the political wave
In the early 90s, a “turn of events” pushed Polevanov to the post of governor of the Amur Region. A competent manager was noticed in the capital and after a short period of time was transferred to the government of the country. However, he did not last long as Chairman of the State Property Management Committee. President Yeltsin removed him from this post without giving any reason. Vladimir Pavlovich had to return to his main profession.
The personal life of a former government official is as solid as granite. Polivanov is legally married. His wife is an economist. Counsel and love reign in the house. The husband and wife raised and raised two children - a son and a daughter. The head of the family loves to play chess and run around the football field.
