At home, he was considered shameless, but abroad all exhibitions of the painter's works were sold out, and rich gentlemen laid out large sums for his canvases.

What is the framework of decency in art? Most often, this term hides some familiar canons, the violation of which is undesirable. You can be seen as a shameless one both for the original style of writing and for the plots for which society is not yet ready. Our hero, it would seem, did not invent anything new, but he was known as a bully.

Childhood

May 1851 in Spanish Granada was marked by a wonderful event - the Duke of Labransano became a father. The family boasted of their nobility, although financially, these aristocrats were not the first people in the city. The heir to the famous surname was baptized by the name of Luis Ricardo.

Since the heir did not shine with riches or vast land plots, there was a hope that he himself would make a contribution to the glorification of his ancient family. From an early age, Louis was taught that he would become a military man, rise to the rank of general or admiral, and perform many feats. In order for the child to receive a versatile education, he was sent to school in Richmond, and in 1860 he was transferred to study in Paris. There, the student became interested in drawing, but preferred not to share his dream of a creative profession with his elders.

Youth

As soon as the time came, daddy returned the teenager to Spain and handed him over from hand to hand to the mentors of the Naval Academy. In his parting words, he extolled the benefits of a career in the navy and urged not to disgrace the memory of great ancestors. During the holidays of 1867, a family friend, lawyer Joaquin Maria de Paz y Casanovas, took the cadet to the capital. The main purpose of the excursion was to visit the Prado Museum.

The next visit of the future officer home turned into a scandal. Luis Ricardo announced that he was leaving the educational institution that his parents had chosen for him. He intends to associate his life with science, and not with military affairs. The head of the family said that henceforth the son can only rely on himself, he will not receive a dime, letters of recommendation too. This did not frighten the young man. An independent life for him began with a trip to Paris on foot without a penny.

In the capital of France, the rebel began to study chemistry and mechanics. In his spare time, he sketched and read books on astronomy. The profession, which he chose for himself, turned out to be no better than the sea service - a large number of life-threatening experiences, exhausting work in laboratories and factories. Someone would have fallen into despondency, considering himself a coward who is not able to realize himself in a truly masculine business, but our hero was not like that.

Luis Falero had already made a brave deed by running away from home, now he had another decisive step - to change the place of study. Gabriel Ferrier became the mentor of the aspiring artist. This famous painter traveled a lot and was in love with mythological subjects. Although his main income came from painting portraits of the French political elite, his paintings on ancient and biblical themes became famous.

At the beginning of the path

Among the first works of Falero were illustrations to the works of the astronomer Camille Nicolas Flamarion. The first book, designed by Louis, was published in 1880. The artist not only fulfilled the tasks of the scientist, but also learned a lot of new things. Later, the theme of the starry sky will find new interpretations on Falero's canvases. Only such interesting tasks did not always come across our hero, he earned his living by performing portraits in pencil.

Falero presented his signature style to the public in Paris. He presented canvases to the audience, which depicted the characters of myths - lovely naked women. The plot allowed showing nude figures, but the heroines were too far from the classical interpretation. The painter did not give names to his paintings in advance, he invented them together with the gallery owners.

Popularity

The capital of France was famous for its freedom of morals, that's why the French fell in love with the impudent Spaniard. Since 1879 Falero took part in exhibitions of the Paris Salon. At home, his work was not accepted. There was a strong position of the church, which condemned frivolous images. This did not bother the artist, who had strained relations with his family.

In the biography of the author of frivolous paintings, a sharp turn could occur after meeting with Alice Gerrfeld. The girl's father painted and sold paintings himself and gave his daughter to Luis Falero for training. The love story was fiery but fleeting. The passionate student left her mentor for the sake of the opera singer Alexander Klein. After that, Luis Ricardo decided to leave France.

England

Moving to London in 1889 was pleasant - the painter arrived in Foggy Albion already of great significance. His works were in demand, most of the paintings were instantly bought up by collectors. After the Royal British Academy acquired several paintings of the Spanish hooligan, he was decently praised.

Falero received a stab in the back from a certain Maud Harvey. In early 1896, she filed a lawsuit against him. The lady accused Luis Ricardo of living with her as a wife, and then threw the pregnant woman out into the street. Indeed, the painter's personal life was stormy. Maud was a servant in his house and posed for several paintings. The artist denied all claims, but he was ordered to pay money for the maintenance of Harvey's son. Nervous, Falero fell seriously ill and died in December of the same year.
