Biography

Tom was born in British Cambridge on November 30, 1993. He had a love for motorsport at the age of three, when the famous father gave his son a mini ATV. And when the boy was six years old, the family moved to New Zealand.

The father was rarely at home, speaking at various competitions. Tom and his brother Paul were raised by their mother, in every possible way encouraging and supporting the love of sports in their sons. Since the age of eight, Tom has taken part in all kinds of children's motorsport competitions, receiving prizes and winning titles all over New Zealand.

In 2009, Stig offered to move to Sweden so that his sons could pursue a racing career, and soon Tom took part in the Swedish Renault Championship. And in 2010, the young racer returned to the UK to compete in the Formula Renault UK series. And in the first season, sixteen-year-old Tom Blomkvist won the championship, becoming the youngest winner, breaking the record of the famous driver Lewis Hamilton, who took first place at the age of 18.

Career

After winning Formula Renault UK, Tom switched to the German F3, ending the season as a rookie in sixth place with two pole positions, one win and four podium finishes. In 2013, Tom competed in the FIA European F3, finishing the year in seventh place.

In 2014, Blomkvist won six races and overtook race favorites, Frenchman Esteban Okon and Red Bull protégé Max Verstappen. Thanks to these successes, Tom received a major contract with BMW Motorsport, acquired an individual racing car and a team.

In the 2015 season, the athlete finished the championship, held in the German town of Oschersleben, in the honorable 14th place, becoming the youngest of the finalists of the BMW team. And in 2016 he finished the race in sixth place. Unfortunately, in the next 2017, in a tough fight, Tom could not reach his previous heights.

But 2018 brought the athlete many important and striking events. Tom won the prize for winning the biggest 24-hour GT race in the world, with the BMW team being considered weak in these races, and Blomkvist's achievement was a surprise and a real treat for his team's fans. This was followed by Tom second in the incredible six-hour race in Fuji.

Personal life

Tom's lover is London-based artist and photographer Rebecca Imogen Keith, a charming blonde and creative person. She loves to travel, takes great pictures of rural England, the French Riviera, Italy. The couple is rather restrained in talking about their relationship, but it is possible that they will soon become husband and wife.
