The voice of the singer Zhanna Rozhdestvenskaya at one time was well known to every lover of Russian cinema. With a unique four-octave range, she has performed popular movie buffs such as Call Me Call and The Fortune Teller.
Carier start
Zhanna was born in 1950 in the regional center of the Saratov region. The girl was fond of singing from an early age, and was the lead vocalist at the city's music school. She was distinguished by a noisy and mischievous character, she even preferred to lead friendships with boys. At twenty, the girl was awarded a diploma from a music school, where she received theoretical knowledge of composition. In 1971, the graduate took over the leadership of the Singing Hearts VIA, which arose at the regional philharmonic society. In the collective, Zhanna performed solo and accompanied on keyboard instruments.
Theatrical works
In 1973 she was invited to work by the director of the Theater of Miniatures Lev Gorelik. The first theatrical premiere of the performer was the musical "This is not a telephone conversation …". A large number of vocal parts required serious preparation, which Jeanne lacked. The aspiring singer was taught the basics of pop vocal by the director's wife, who had a conservatory education. With colleagues on the stage, Zhanna organized a musical group "Saratov accordions", which soon became a diploma winner of the All-Union competition of pop art. The soloist sang, danced and owned several instruments. The ensemble made such an impression on the audience and members of the jury that they received an offer to start work in the capital. With the collective, the artist moved to Moscow and performed at first in the State Circus, which she did not really like, but helped to get a metropolitan residence permit. Later, work continued at the Music Hall.
A new great success in the singer's musical career was the victory in 1976 at the Sochi International Competition. Vocalists competed in the performance of a political song. An aria from the opera The Star and Death of Joaquin Murieta, which was performed, gave her the first prize of the Red Carnation. A few years later, the part that brought her success sounded from the records.
Three years later, the composer offered the singer the aria of the Blessed Virgin in a new work "Juno and Avos". Its famous third octave E-flat has not been surpassed by anyone.
Film work
In the 80s, Rozhdestvenskaya began cooperation with Rosconcert. For four seasons she was one of the five best Russian vocalists according to the "Sound Track" rating. This period was marked by her multifaceted work in the film industry. For two decades, Jeanne has performed roles in many feature films and cartoons. Her filmography includes more than two dozen works. The audience fell in love with the romantic pictures "My affectionate and gentle animal" (1979) and "All the way around" (1981), the musical film "Ah, vaudeville, vaudeville" (1979). Every year television shows the consistently popular films: "Carnival" (1981), "Office Romance" (1977) and the New Year's comedy "The Wizards" (1982). Among the works and films for children: "The Magic Voice of Jelsomino" (1977) and "About Little Red Riding Hood" (1977).
Record studio "Melodiya" has released about ten discs with the singer's voice. These were works from cartoons, sound pages of the children's magazine "Kolobok", songs and literary records.
Personal life
Even in her youth, while studying at the Saratov Music College, Zhanna married drummer Sergei Akimov. Following the birth of his daughter, her husband left the family. This was the only and failed attempt to create a family union, which the singer does not like to remember very much. When her mother was pursuing a career in Moscow, Olya lived with her grandmother in Rtishchevo, but soon moved to her mother in the capital. Younger Rozhdestvenskaya also chose a vocal career and graduated from the Gnessin School. She made her debut in the movie "About Little Red Riding Hood", and now the song of the main character of the picture is considered her calling card. Olga was at the origins of advertising, she sounded the first video in 1994 about Lipton tea. Today, many supermodels and stars advertise a wide variety of products in her voice.
From the 90s to the present day
In the 90s, like many artists, Zhanna Rozhdestvenskaya was left out of work. Only the petition of Alexei Rybnikov helped her get a job at the Moscow Clownery Theater. For many years she taught vocal skills there, and continues this activity today. It is not too often that the artist can be seen among the participants in concerts.
In the 2000s, Rozhdestvenskaya gave a new sound to the beloved work of Alexei Rybnikov "Juno and Avos", this time together with her daughter Olga, who continued the creative dynasty. The singer has no family ties with the famous poet of the same name, although she had to perform works on his lines. There is another person in the Rozhdestvensky family who is directly related to music. The singer's brother Oleg sang at the opera, and later founded the Bard-Retro club.
In 2008, the opera The Star and Death of Joaquin Murieta received a second life. This time Rozhdestvenskaya trained young singers, and the main arias went to Dmitry Koldun and Svetlana Svetikova. The premiere of the performance took place in the capital's Mir concert hall.
2015 was a new stage in the singer's creative biography, she first accepted a job offer on television. The main goal of the entertainment show "Main Stage" was the search for young talented artists, whose work could spark new stars of Russian show business. The program was prepared by order of the channel "Russia-1", the casting of candidates took place on the main stage of the country - in the State Kremlin Palace. As part of an authoritative jury, the singer impartially evaluated the works of the contestants.
Zhanna Rozhdestvenskaya is an active person with a great sense of humor. Even at such a solid age, she does not take up the energy that literally gushes out of her.
