The future Russian boxer was born in Leningrad on January 5, 1989 in a family of engineers. Since birth, Rostislav had health problems: the boy had a hip joint injury. Doctors recommended that the child undergo urgent surgery. However, the parents decided to leave their son on their own. As a result, the problem disappeared, by the age of six Rostislav could move without any particular restrictions.
Subsequently, Plechko became actively involved in kayaking, became the champion of St. Petersburg and even reached the final part of the national championship. In this sport, Rostislav fulfilled the standard of a candidate for master of sports. Plechko finished rowing at the age of 14. A few years later, he became a student at the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, where he began boxing while attending the university section. The young man managed to harmoniously combine sports with education.
Boxing career
By 2015, Plechko had several dozen boxing fights in the amateur rank and became the champion of the northern capital in the category over 91 kg. Rostislav's debut in professional status took place in February 2016. Sedrak Agagulyan became Plechko's rival. Rostislav knocked out the enemy at the very beginning of the battle. After that, Plechko held several more meetings, in each of which he achieved victory by knockout.
In November 2016, Rostislav met in the ring with Evgeny Orlov. Already in the first round, Plechko carried out several crushing attacks, sending Orlov first to a knockdown, and then to a knockout.
In March 2017, a fight between Plechko and Bernard Adi (Kenya) took place in St. Petersburg. The meeting was short-lived: the Russian boxer quickly sent the Kenyan into a deep knockout.
A few months later, Plechko had to defend the title of Russian champion for the first time. During the fight in Moscow, Plechko knocked out Russian Vladimir Goncharov. The fight actually ended in the first round.
In August 2017, Rostislav was to fight in the ring with the Brazilian Barrus. However, Plechko's opponent did not pass the medical examination. The Brazilian boxer was replaced by Ibrahim Labaran from Ghana. The meeting took place in Saratov and ended with a convincing victory for Plechko, who was then recognized as the WBA Asia champion.
