The actor tied the knot three times.

The first wife - actress Darlene, worked at the studio, where Cheech met her and invited her to a cameo role in the movie "The Stoned". Their marriage lasted almost 10 years. The actor has a child from this marriage.

The second wife is Patti Heid, she was an artist. They lived together until 2009, during which time Patty gave birth to two children.
