There are many ways to send a parcel to any city in Russia, including from abroad. The speed of delivery of the parcel depends on which of them you choose, and on whether you agree to pay extra for postal services or individuals and companies.

Step 1
Contact the Russian Post. Check out the list of prohibited items and make sure that your mailing does not contain them. Take 2 forms of receipts and indicate on each of them your full name, home address, as well as the address and full name of the recipient in St. Petersburg. If you would like your package to be sent by air mail, please mark it on the receipt. However, the shipping cost in this case will naturally be higher. Make an inventory of the attachments.
Step 2
Go to the window for receiving parcels with receipts and inventory. Pack the parcel with the postal worker and weigh it. The postal worker must indicate the weight of the parcel in the receipts, enter information about it into the computer, and then print a marking sheet with the information specified in the receipt (name and address of the sender and recipient). This sheet is glued to the parcel, after which you will have to pay for the receipts. If you want to track the location of the parcel, notify the operator and pay for this service.
Step 3
Contact one of the private express delivery services for mail, including parcels. You can also contact a similar service via the Internet. The courier will arrive at the address indicated by you with application forms, one of which, after filling, will remain with you. The courier can also weigh the parcel in your presence. After that, you will only have to pay the application-receipt or, if you are a regular customer of this company, pay off the invoice that will be sent to you at the beginning of the next month. Please note: the cost of shipping in such companies is always more expensive, but you can keep your shipment confidential if necessary.
Step 4
Contact your familiar long-distance drivers or train conductors going to St. Petersburg and ask them to hand over the parcel. Before that, call the recipient of the parcel and notify him of the time of its arrival. This method, of course, is not a reliable one, so agree with the driver or guide and that the delivery services will be paid for by him only in St. Petersburg, about which also notify the recipient.
Step 5
Sending a parcel to St. Petersburg from abroad is usually carried out by mail, or with the help of private companies that have an agreement with the Russian Post on delivery, since such companies can trace the route of departure only to the border with our country. In addition, the cost of the services of private companies is usually more expensive, but you will be able to trace the path of the parcel, even if its weight is less than 2 kg, which is impossible when contacting the state post office.
