Early starts

Public health care consists of several components. And in the first place in this process is not medicine. Recreational and supportive physical education is more important. The future Olympic champion Lyubov Vladimirovna Galkina was born on March 15, 1973 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in the famous town of Alapaevsk. My father worked at a machine tool plant. Mother taught literature and Russian in one of the secondary schools.

It is important to note that in that chronological period, almost all citizens of active age were engaged in physical education. Sports sections operated at each of the five secondary specialized educational institutions. In the evenings, adult sports fans were engaged in school gyms. Lyuba Galkina did not differ from other girls with whom she talked on the street and in the classroom. She studied well. Participated in all school activities. Galkina's favorite subject was drawing. She even regularly attended the art circle for several years. In high school I became interested in playing volleyball and handball. In playing sports, the girl showed decent results.

As a student, Galkina played for the handball team of the Ural Polytechnic Institute (UPI). However, the path to the big sport began in the sixth grade, when Lyuba passed the norms for the TRP badge - "Ready for Labor and Defense". The set of exercises included air rifle shooting. Test shooting took place at a shooting range at the local boiler plant's cultural center. An experienced coach immediately singled out Galkina from the group of participants who came to the test shooting. And not only singled out, but also convinced me to enroll in the bullet shooting section.

It should be noted that the young athlete liked shooting. She effortlessly adhered to a sports regimen while continuing to study at school. Having received a certificate of maturity, Galkina decided to continue the family tradition and entered the metallurgical faculty of UPI. At the same time, the priority for the student remained sports. She was educated, played for the college team in handball and did not miss training in the shooting section. However, the moment came and she had to make a difficult choice. Galkina chose shooting sport.

Olympic sight

The sports career of a graduate of the Polytechnic Institute developed progressively, without ups and downs. For two years she played for the national team of the Sverdlovsk region. She showed consistently high results at zonal and republican competitions. In 1997, Lyubov took her place in the national team of the Russian Federation. Experts already at that time noted the unique ability of the athlete to quickly rebuild and adapt to changing conditions. If her shooting "did not stick" in one exercise, then she concentrated her efforts on the next stage.

Skillfully combining air rifle shooting from different distances, she won her first gold medal at the 1999 European Championships. The chosen tactics allowed Galkina to receive seven gold medals at the European championships. However, in the 2000 Olympic tournament, the Russian athlete was in fourth place. It was a painful blow to self-esteem and professional ambitions. At the 2004 Olympics in Athens, the Russian athlete took two gold medals - in rifle shooting at 50 meters and in air rifle shooting at 10 meters.

Awards and achievements

Despite the outward simplicity, shooting sports is one of the most difficult types. It is important for a shooter not only to have good physical fitness, but also to have strong nerves. Irregular breathing, rapid heartbeat, or a banal rumbling in the belly can have a negative effect on shooting results. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Galkina won a silver medal in air rifle shooting. And that's all. After these competitions, she fully prepared for the next Olympiad, but the athlete failed to pass the qualifying selection.

After completing performances in sports, Lyubov Galkina did not retire. She continues to work hard to attract the younger generation to physical education and sports. For the achieved results and contribution to the development of sports, the multiple champion and prize-winner of international competitions was awarded the Order of Merit to the Fatherland and the Order of Honor.

Hobbies and personal life

As a member of the national team, Lyubov Galkina read books and drew in her free time from training. He is fond of skiing. She was attracted to this occupation by her future husband. The personal life of the Olympic champion has developed successfully. She is married to Yevgeny Aleinikov, who coaches the country's youth shooting team. The husband and wife raised their son, who is still far from sports.

In recent years, Lyubov Vladimirovna has been coaching at CSKA. She was awarded the military rank of Major. When the opportunity arises, the spouses go on tourist trips to distant countries. Love has long been fond of numismatics and always brings home coins that she comes across on a trip.
