When actors or poets are compared with celestial bodies, it is necessary to note what size they have. Someone flies across the sky like a meteor and disappears forever. Others remain in the memory for a long time. Soviet film actress Lyudmila Shabalina did not play the main roles.
Childhood and youth
The fateful times that the country is going through primarily frighten ordinary people. Lyudmila Vasilievna Shabalina was born on August 12, 1916 in a bohemian family. Parents at that time lived in Petrograd. Father was considered a leading figure among avant-garde artists. Mother worked as a modest typist in a book publishing house. They did not live well, but amicably.
Four years later, the girl had two twin brothers. Friends and colleagues of the head of the family often visited the house. They had a heated debate about the role of art in building a new society. Shabalina studied well at school. She knew history and literature well. She attended a poetry studio and was engaged in creativity herself, wrote poetry. When Lyudmila was sixteen years old, she entered the acting school, which functioned at the famous Lenfilm film studio.
Professional activity
The actress who received a specialized education was enrolled in the staff of the film studio. And a month later she made her debut. Shabalina played the role of a pioneer leader in the movie Beethoven's Concert. The start was promising. Lyudmila demonstrated her abilities for transformation and expected new roles. It is important to emphasize that by this time the political situation in the country had sharply deteriorated. Father was arrested on a denunciation. They tried and sentenced to death. Some of the actors were also arrested and sentenced to various terms of imprisonment.
In such an environment, none of the directors dared to invite the actress Shabalina to the main role. Of course, decent people remained at the studio. Lyudmila was invited to minor roles and to participate in episodes. She received a modest fee for her participation in the films The Return of Maxim, The Teacher, and Antosha Rybkin. When the war began, Shabalina, together with the film studio staff, was evacuated to Tashkent. Here, in the pavilions, they continued to shoot films and release them on screens.
Personal life scenario
There is no reason to call Lyudmila Shabalina's acting career successful. The personal life of the actress was no less dramatic. The first time she married a fellow student was a student. In 1935, the couple had a son. When the war began, my husband went to the front. He left and met another wife there, about which he notified Lyudmila in writing. In 1943, Shabalina met on the set with the handsome actor Mikhail Kuznetsov.
They lived under the same roof for three years. And even starred together in the films "In the Name of Life" and "Air Carrier". Lyudmila could not get pregnant, and Kuznetsov went to another woman. This blow broke her. She gave up cinema and went to Murmansk. She married a naval officer. She spent the last years of her life in a small village in the Kaliningrad region. Lyudmila Shabalina passed away in June 1981.
