The future movie mogul was born into an international Astrakhan family in 1961, on August 17. Renata Davletyarov has a younger brother Boris. The parents gave their children an excellent education. The senior graduated from the polytechnic university, the junior became a physician.

For seven years he worked at the Mosfilm film concern and for the same period as the general director of the Moscow International Film Festival.
