It happens that actors wait a long time for their "star" role - this is what happened with Susan Sarandon, an American actress.
Her real name is Susan Abigail Tomalin, and the actress was born in 1946 in New York. Their family had nine children, as in many Catholic families, and all were brought up in strict traditions. The children went to a private Catholic school, where there were also many restrictions. Susan was never a rebel or a bully, but she constantly asked uncomfortable questions to her teachers, for which she was not very much favored at school.
And yet, such an upbringing led to the fact that young Susan dreamed of getting married and becoming a housewife. However, fate wanted her to meet with Chris Sarandon at a Catholic university, where she went to study after school. The brown-eyed actor won the girl's heart, and thanks to him she entered the acting environment. Her beauty was appreciated by directors and began to be invited to their projects.
The path to the cinema
The first works did not bring her much fame, as these were episodes. She got the central role in the film "Joe" (1970), which was nominated for an Oscar. After this picture, there were many different works - successful and not so. These were comedies, melodramas, dramas. Sometimes she managed to work with big celebrities.
Perhaps the first significant success came to Sarandon with the film Atlantic City (1980). It was then that she was recognized as the best foreign actress, and in 1982 she was awarded the Oscar.
This was followed by films "saturated with mysticism": "Hunger" (1983) and "Eastwick Witches" (1985). In the twentieth century - new roles, though now of the second plan, or episodes. And in 2006, Susan was lucky to star in the title role of the movie "Obsession", where she perfectly portrayed the state of a woman, seized by despair, but still not losing her mind. The audience was delighted with Sarandon's masterful playing. But she has no acting education.
Susan Sarandon's last work to date is the TV series Feud (2017) and the main role.
Personal life
Susan's first husband is the same brown-eyed Chris Sarandon, with whom they lived for almost 10 years. She is opposed to legalized relations, but the marriage had to be registered, otherwise they would not be allowed to live together at the university.
In 1988, she met Tim Robbins, and lived with him for 21 years, but this union also fell apart.
Susan had another common-law husband - director Franco Amurri.
Thanks to all her men, Susan became a mother of many children - she has three children and two grandchildren.
Susan does not hide her age, does not hide the fact that she resorts to plastic surgery, and says that in her “over seventy” years she is very happy with the way she looks. And she believes that her current image is even better than the one when she just started acting in films.
