According to legend, the beginning of the emergence of the church is considered to be the conversation between the Lord Jesus Christ and his disciples, which took place in Philip Caesarea. During it, the Apostle Peter, on behalf of all the apostles, confessed Christ. The first church was born in this place. The church is a special place for many purposes.
Worship to the Lord
The existence of the church cannot be imagined without worshiping Jesus Christ personally in prayer or in small groups or large gatherings. The Bible describes the visions of the prophets, where you can read about the beautiful pictures of the future. And then all the other purposes of the church will fade into the background and only one will remain - worship of God.
Evangelism to the lost
The Bible teaches that the church has an external task to be accomplished in this age. Thanks to this problem, the attention of the church is focused not on itself, but on the surrounding world. Jesus came to preach the gospel to a lost and lost world, so the outer purpose of the church is missionary work and the gospel.
Preparation of "doers"
It follows from the Bible that the church also has an internal purpose, which is to instruct its members and prepare them for ministry. Most of the New Testament letters were addressed to believers to strengthen them in ministry and Christian life so that they could fulfill an external purpose.
These goals cannot exist one without the other, they are interconnected. The inner purpose (preparation / edification) helps the outer purpose (evangelism), and both serve the glorification of Jesus Christ (worship).
The church is a place of salvation. It not only purifies the soul, but also sanctifies all aspects of a person's life, types of his activities. And the main task of the church is the salvation of people through Christianity, which cannot exist without the church. The special presence of God is felt in it, mysterious and blessed, felt and cognized by believers with reverence, and sometimes manifested in special signs. The Church originally sanctified all spheres of people's lives; this was aimed at making the believer aware of his life as a part of the life of Christ. All aspects of the life of believers must be imbued with Christ.
