Step 1
Contact the Directorate for the construction of garage facilities in the city of Moscow or your local council and ask for documents under the "People's Garage" program. You can find out the addresses for inquiries on the project website (https://www.mskgarage.ru/) or by phone ((495) 730-95-51). Please read the rules of participation carefully.
Step 2
Ask an employee of the Directorate to accompany you to select a parking space. Take your time choosing it. Try to find a parking spot in the center of the building, not on the edge. This will keep you safe from rain and snow. Go through several garages, choose the most conveniently located.
Step 3
According to the established rules, one parking space in the "people's garage" is an area of 18 square meters. Don't forget to bring a tape measure with you. Measure the parking space yourself.
Step 4
After that, return to the Directorate and conclude a purchase and sale agreement. When signing the contract, you will be required to pay the cost of the parking space. If you don't have enough funds, try taking out a loan. You can either use the services of banks cooperating with the Directorates (Transcapitalbank, Bank of Moscow and Peresvet), or choose it yourself. When contacting any bank, you will be required to pay an invoice for the purchase of a garage, indicating the full cost.
Step 5
You can also take part in shared construction. At the same time, you can pay from 30 percent of the cost of the garage. If desired, this amount can be increased up to 100 percent. You will also be offered to use a loan from authorized banks at reduced loan rates - 9% per annum.
Step 6
If you are required to provide documents proving that you own a car, know that it is illegal. A place in the "people's garage" should be sold to you even without a car. The number of places is also not limited yet. However, if you purchase a garage in a different area from where you are registered, your application may be considered for a long time.
