More recently, it was possible to obtain a foreign passport only by personally contacting the Office of the Federal Migration Service. Now this can be done via the Internet using the government services website.
Instructions
Step 1
To obtain a passport for traveling abroad, you need to collect the following documents both when applying for it via the Internet and when contacting the FMS in person:
- application form for the issuance of a passport. You can create and send it to the FMS using the portal www.gosuslugi.ru. Or download a sample from the link https://www.fms.gov.ru/documents/passportrf/, save it on your computer, fill out and print;
- a valid passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation;
- a receipt for payment of the state duty;
- two photos for a biometric passport, or three for an old document. Color or black and white does not matter. The main condition is that the pictures should be matte, in an oval with shading. A photograph for a biometric document is taken by a special apparatus at the Federal Migration Service. The pictures you brought with you are needed for the questionnaire in the archive;
- a certificate from a military registration and enlistment office or a military ID (for men 18-27 years old);
- issued in the prescribed manner permission from the command - for employees of the active army of the Russian Federation;
- an old foreign passport, if its validity period has not expired.
Step 2
With a set of documents, go to the Office of the Federal Migration Service at the place of registration. Step 3
After checking the correctness and authenticity of the documents and the questionnaire, the employees of the district administration will send your application to the department for issuing foreign passports. Three to four weeks after that, your new document will be printed. You can find out about its readiness by calling the district office.
Step 4
To obtain a foreign passport via the Internet, register on the website www.gosuslugi.ru. Fill out the application form and attach a photo to it. Click on the "Submit" button. Your data will go for verification to the main Perm Office of the Federal Migration Service. In one to four weeks, employees of the regional passport office will contact you and ask you to show the original documents. Three to seven days after that, you will be given a new foreign passport.
