Sofia Rotaru and her future husband Anatoly Evdokimenko were both closely associated with art, but they were introduced to them by the popular magazine "Krestyanka" in those years. Anatoly saw on its pages a photo of a young vocalist and decided to find her by all means.
They met in 1965, and got married in 1968. The newlyweds moved to Novosibirsk, where Anatoly worked out the "distribution" after university. Sofia worked as a teacher. Creative "by blood", young people performed in the evenings in a small city recreation center. In 1970, their first and only son Ruslan was born.
The popularity and demand for Sofia Mikhailovna did not become a stumbling block for loving spouses. For many years Anatoly was not only a husband, but also a concert director of Rotaru. His departure from life in 2002, after 30 years of a happy marriage, was a real blow for Sofia Mikhailovna. She stopped performing, she did not take off her mourning for a year.
Her son Ruslan helped her recover and re-enter the stage to delight her fans. She and her mother are very close, even have the experience of performing together on stage. Ruslan Evdokimenko, son of Sofia Rotaru, was born at the end of August 1970. Shortly before his birth, his mother first appeared on the Central Television of the USSR - she sang her song in the TV show "Pervomaisky" Blue Light ".
