The annual Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 will be held in the homeland of the winners of the last contest - in Azerbaijan, in the city of Baku. Long before the start of the festival, it became known which performer or musical group would represent each participating country.
Instructions
Step 1
Russia at Eurovision 2012 will be represented by the musical group Buranovskie Babushki, which was previously little known among the general public. However, it has a rich history. It was created back in the seventies as a folklore group performing songs in the Udmurt language. A few years before Eurovision 2012, the collective included in the repertoire songs of famous performers from Russia and other countries in the Udmurt language in a specific musical arrangement. The peculiarity of this ensemble is also the age of the performers. Most often, young singers take part in the European competition, and the age of most of the performers of the Russian ensemble is over 70 years old. This group has twice participated in the qualifying competition to represent Russia at the music festival. The second time their participation was successful. The performers will defend the honor of Russia at Eurovision with the song "Party for Everybody".
Step 2
Together with the Russian ensemble in the first semi-final of Eurovision, a representative of Latvia with the stage name Anmari will perform. Her real name is Linda Amantova, and in various interviews she talked about her Russian origin.
Step 3
Most of the performers have chosen English for their songs. However, there are also exceptions. Albanian representative Rona Nishliu will sing in her native language. The Swedish singer Pernilla Karlsson, representing the country of the same name, chose for her composition. Representative of Portugal Philip Sozo will also traditionally sing in the national language. And the Austrian duo Trackshittaz decided to perform the song in the Bavarian dialect.
Step 4
Sabina Babayeva will speak from the host country of Eurovision. She previously tried to get into the competition, but failed in the national qualifying round. Prior to that, she participated in other vocal competitions, and also sang a song that will become the soundtrack to a well-known series in Azerbaijan.
