Ivan Belousov is an undeservedly forgotten writer, poet, translator. He published a collection in which he included the works of the same nuggets as himself - self-taught writers.

Biography

Ivan Belousov was born in the new style on November 27, 1863 in Moscow into a simple family. His father, Alexei Fedorovich, was a tailor. The parent considered reading books an empty exercise, and writing something reprehensible. Alexey Fyodorovich was sure that his son also needed to become a tailor. These facts were later recalled by Nikolai Dmitrievich Teleshov, a poet and writer. It was with him that the matured Ivan Belousov later organized the Wednesday circle. But that was later. In the meantime, the young man writes poetry in secret from his father. When the young man was 19 years old, he decided to show his creations in the editorial offices of some magazines and newspapers. Here they took these poems with pleasure and published them.

This is how the creative career of the young publicist began. When he was 36 years old, Ivan Belousov, together with other poets and writers, created a literary circle "Wednesday". This society lasted until 1916. The name of the union is not accidental, since its members gathered together on this day of the week. At first, the meetings were held in apartments, and after 8 years they managed to get a room in the Literary and Art Circle. The chairman of the Sreda society was Sumbatov first, and then Bryusov. It also included such famous people of art as: Gorky, Vasnetsov, Bunin, Andreev, Veresaev, Rachmaninov, Serafimovich, Chaliapin.

As we can see, this organization gathered not only literary scholars, but also singers, artists, composers.

Communication with such people had a beneficial effect on the development of the abilities of Ivan Belousov. He translated the work of Taras Shevchenko "Kobzar" from the Ukrainian language. Critics wrote that in this way Belousov managed to popularize this Ukrainian poet among the Russian-speaking public even more than some representatives of Ukrainian art tried to do.

Ivan Belousov also managed to popularize the works of the Polish writer and poetess Maria Konopnitskaya and Ada Negri, the Italian poetess, as well as many Belarusian and Ukrainian poets.

Even Ivan Belousov wrote stories for the younger generation, historical and literary works. The latter include such works of his as "Gone Moscow", "Literary Moscow". From these works, readers will learn a lot of interesting things about famous writers. Here Belousov spoke about Korolenko, Gorky, Tolstoy and his other famous contemporaries.

Personal life

The famous literary critic tied the knot in 1888. The merchant's daughter, Irina Pavlovna Rakhmanova, became his wife. The couple had four sons: Ivan, Eugene, Sergey and Alexey.

Ivan Belousov left behind not only four wonderful heirs, but also the most interesting books, including memoirs and poems. In one of the books, he combined the creations of self-taught writers like him, which made a great contribution to the discovery and popularization of these hitherto unknown authors.
