In 1981, Russia introduced the practice of converting clocks to "winter" and "summer" time. The purpose of such a system is to conserve energy resources, and this practice exists in many countries.

In different countries, the hands of the clock are translated on different days and at different times. If you are in Russia, set the time back one hour on the last Sunday in October at 3:00 local time (that is, on the night from Saturday to Sunday).

Most computers, laptops, telephones are equipped with an automatic time update system, and it is unnecessary to manually transfer the clocks to them.

In the Russian Federation, the transition to winter time has always been a topic of controversy. As a result of an analysis of the feasibility and negative consequences of the change in time, it was decided to cancel the system that has existed for thirty years since 2011. The last time the Russians switched the clock hands to summer time in the spring of 2011, and in the fall, the clock has already been canceled. Thus, the rules for switching to seasonal time are now relevant only for those countries where this system continues to operate.
Step 4
If you are in Europe, remember that they do not change the clock to local time (as in Russia), but to Greenwich Mean Time, depending on the time zone. For example, in London and Lisbon, the clocks are changed at 2 am local time, and in Paris, Rome, Berlin - at 3 am local time, while Athens or Helsinki will change the clock when it is already 4 o'clock there.
Step 5
Iceland is the only European country that does not switch to daylight saving time. This way, while in Iceland, your clock will be lagging behind London time in the summer and the same in the winter.
Step 6
When in the United States of America, set your watch to Standard Time on the first Sunday in November at 2:00 am. Please note that the states of Hawaii and Arizona do not adhere to clock conversion systems at all.

In Africa, only three countries translate time - Egypt, Tunisia and Namibia.

Some former Soviet republics refused to switch to winter / summer time a few years ago (Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan).
