Biography
The future journalist was born on the first day of February 1971. Georgy's family are prominent representatives of the Soviet intelligentsia: his father is a doctor of sciences, he worked as a professor, and his mother was a research assistant. Parents devoted a lot of time to their work, and therefore the grandmother was involved in raising the boy. During his school years, Georgy began to actively get involved in football, he played well, regularly became a prize-winner of various school competitions. In 1982 he was enrolled in the capital's Spartak farm club, where he spent seven years, but in 1989 he was forced to interrupt his sports career due to a serious knee injury.
Television career
Before getting on television, Georgy Cherdantsev came a long way. Having forcibly abandoned his football career, he entered the philological faculty at the most prestigious university in Moscow - Moscow State University. Studying was easy, and in 1992 he successfully received a diploma in translator from English. Despite his solid education, Cherdantsev could not get a job by profession. Unable to engage in an interesting business, Georgy got a job at a bank as an ordinary manager, but did not stay there for a long time. After that, there were attempts to find his place in the tourism sector, but even there he worked for no more than a year.
Cherdantsev appeared on television by chance: in 1996, while watching TV, he learned about the launch of a package of paid services from the NTV channel, then he decided to try himself as a journalist. Good knowledge of foreign languages and a diploma from a prestigious university played a significant role in the interview. At first, he worked under the command of Vasily Utkin in the popular Football Club program.
Georgy made his debut as a commentator in 1998. He worked on the broadcast of the World Cup match between the teams of Italy and Norway. In 1999, he became the host of his own program on NTV + "European Football Week". The program covered the bright events of European football over the past week. In 2005, he tried himself as a radio host in the Listening Football program, where he worked until 2013. In 2015, the largest sports media holding Match-TV was formed, and Georgy returned to television, where he works as a commentator and acts as an expert in analytical programs.
