Alexandra Grishina is a Belarusian athlete, rower-kayaker. She became the silver medalist of the World Championship, the winner of the national and youth regattas.

Childhood, adolescence

Alexandra Grishina was born on July 31, 1993 in the village of Zhodino (Minsk region, Belarus). The girl's parents had nothing to do with sports, but wanted their daughter to do something healthy. At that time, they did not think that these activities would lead their daughter to big sports.

From an early age, Grishina studied at a children's and youth sports school. She showed good results. The girl had everything to become successful, to build a career. She was involved in various sports, but in the end she became interested in kayaks. There was no opportunity to train in his native Zhodino. But the Grishina family after some time moved to Minsk. In the capital, Alexandra attended the Minsk regional specialized children's and youth school of the Olympic reserve. She trained with such renowned coaches as L. A. Kozlovskaya and V. A. Romysh. A few years after the start of active rowing, she began to show serious results.

Career

In 2012, Grishina won several medals at the European and World Championships in the junior category. The talented athlete was noticed and already in 2013 she was invited to participate in competitions at the adult level among professionals. After a series of successful performances, she was awarded the right to join the national team of Belarus and represent the country at the European Championship in the Portuguese city of Montemor-y-Velho.

Alexandra with a four-seater crew, which also included rowers Olga Khudenko, Nadezhda Popok and Margarita Tishkevich, won a bronze medal at a distance of 500 meters. In those competitions, the national teams of Hungary and Germany were ahead. Grishina attended the youth world and European championships, but was never able to take a prize. She took part in the offset of the Summer Universiade in Kazan. She won the gold medal in the four-seater 500 meter crew program.

Alexandra Grishina is a talented athlete. She was always very resilient and strived for victory, despite all the obstacles that came along the way. For rowers, these qualities are important. Physical data are of no less importance. Athletes must have a certain physique, developed muscles. Alexandra is not deprived of all this. Grishina took part in competitions in single kayaks, double kayaks and four-row kayaks. She managed to achieve the best results in team competitions held in four-row kayaks over short distances.

Coaches characterize Grishina as an athlete who knows how to work well in a team. This is another component of her success.

Alexandra Grishina had many awards. She won prizes at the world championships several times:

  • gold medal at the world championship among students (Minsk, 2014);
  • silver medal (Moscow, 2014);
  • silver medal (Milan, 2015).

In 2014, Grishina, paired with Sofya Yurchenko, became the European champion, beating all rivals in the kilometer classification at competitions in the German city of Brandenburg. This victory became very significant in her career. Then she successfully performed at the world championship in Moscow, in the same discipline she and Yurchenko finished second, passing ahead only the crew from Denmark.

Grishina's collection of awards contains several medals won at the European Championships:

  • bronze medal (Montemor y Velho, Portugal, 2013);
  • gold medal (Brandenburg, Germany, 2014);
  • gold medal (Racice, Czech Republic, 2015).

Alexandra has a university degree. After leaving school, she had to train a lot, so she did not immediately enter the university. But a few years later, she still became a student at the Belarusian University of Physical Culture and Sports and successfully graduated from it.

For her outstanding achievements, she was awarded the title of International Master of Sports of the highest class. Alexandra dreams of taking part in the Olympic Games and believes that she may well take one of the prizes at them. In the future, she plans to take up coaching activities. The athlete admits that she has always dreamed of working with children and would like to coach this age group.

Personal life

Very little is known about Grishina's personal life. She is not active on social networks and prefers to hide everything that concerns her family from prying eyes. Alexandra gave several interviews in which she admitted that she would like to be remembered by people for her achievements in sports, and not for scandals and discussions of her novels.

Grishina has a big friendly family. She is in excellent relations with her parents, loves her younger sister very much. Alexandra has not thought about creating her family yet, although she admits that she has already met a person with whom she would like to connect her life. But Grishina does not name his name.

After a series of victories at the most prestigious competitions and championships, Alexandra became a popular and sought-after athlete. Young age allows her to continue her sports career, so almost all of her time is occupied by training. She often travels to training camps, but there is not much time left for herself and Grishina tries to spend it with maximum benefit. She loves to travel, enjoys visiting new countries and cities. Alexandra loves to read books. She is interested in classical literature, but she also respects contemporary authors.
