Irina Lobacheva is a Russian figure skater. Honored Master of Sports won silver at the Salt Lake City Olympics together with Ilya Averbukh. The multiple champion of Russia became the champion of Europe and the world.
Irina Viktorovna came to figure skating as a child on the recommendation of doctors. The girl was often ill, and therefore the doctors advised her parents to spend as much time as possible in the fresh air with her daughter. The best option was called sports. Since both Ira's grandmother and her parents adored ice dancing, everything was decided in favor of figure skating.
Carier start
The biography of the future champion began in 1973. The girl was born in Ivanteevka on February 18. The family had nothing to do with the world of sports and art. Mom worked as a gynecologist, dad worked as an electrician.
Since 1979, Irina was taken to an open skating rink. Natalya Dubinskaya became her mentor. To get to workouts on time, Ira left home at 6 in the morning, returning back after midnight. The schoolgirl had to do homework either while traveling on the bus or in the locker room.
Twelve-year-old Irina took part in international competitions for the first time. After the impressive results in Prague, the coach realized that the girl was a promising athlete. The mentor insisted on Ira's move to the Dynamo dormitory.
Until adolescence, Irina trained as a single athlete. However, over time, due to health problems, she ceased to be able to brilliantly perform complex elements. Lobacheva was transferred to pair skating. In this discipline, the potential of the skater was fully revealed.
A purposeful and strong-willed girl, after school, she received her education at the capital's state academy of physical culture. After parting with her professional career, she graduated from the Sholokhov Humanitarian University in Moscow.
Finding a pair
Lobacheva began pair skating together with Oleg Onishchenko. After dancing together for a year and a half, the couple ceased to exist. The young man left sports for the sake of business. Then Alexey Pospelov came to Irina, but he immigrated to Sweden, then completely abandoning the continuation of his career.
It was previously decided that Lobacheva was going to France, where she would be paired with Gwendal Peizerat. However, in 1992, Irina was paired with Ilya Averbukh. At that moment he was experiencing disagreements with Marina Anisina. The duet "danced", and Anisina left for France.
Athletes have consistently demonstrated excellent results, being in the top three. Many times the pair became the first in the country, excellent results at the championships of Europe and the world. In 1994, they went to the United States, where they began more intense and challenging training in Denver with coaches Natalia Lininchuk and Gennady Karponosov.
The results were not long in coming. In 1998, the couple at their first Olympics became the fifth, and in 2002 in Salt Lake City they were already the second. A year later, the athletes decided to end their amateur career and turned professional.
They constantly participated in various television shows dedicated to ice dancing, showed performances. At home, Lobachev and Averbukh founded the Ice Symphony company. She produced and conducted theatrical performances on ice with the participation of figure skating stars.
On the basis of the company, ice TV shows for Channel One were then created. Irina tried her hand as a coach. Belarusian athletes Yegor Maistrov and Ksenia Shamyrina Lobacheva opened their own sports school in Novogorsk. Later, the classes were transferred to the Dynamo skating rink.
After retirement
The field of parting with professional sports Irina Viktorovna began to participate in ice shows. She danced with singer Valeria Syutkin, was paired with actor Denis Matrosov, director and actor Vladimir Shevelkov. Lobacheva performed with Dmitry Maryanov in the TV show "Ice Age".
An athlete also appeared in the project “Ice Age. Professional Cup”, where only professionals competed. She won 9th place among women.
There were many events in the skater's personal life. She had known Ilya Averbukh since childhood. The romance between them began when young people barely paired. On March 10, 1995, they officially became husband and wife. Their relationship was called perfect. In 2004, a child appeared in the family, son Martin.
After 16 years, there were rumors about the disagreements that began between the athletes. The skaters finally parted in 2007. After the divorce, Irina began dating artist Dmitry Maryanov. However, this union turned out to be short-lived.
Vocation and family
Then a businessman became the chosen one of Lobacheva. The death of a man put an end to their relationship. In 2015, Irina again took a ride to establish family life with Alexander Shumakov. However, this time the relationship ended in failure.
At the beginning of 2018, the athlete found happiness again. The figure skater Ivan Tretyakov became her husband. At Irina's school, he works as a coach. The man made the proposal after a year-long romance.
The official ceremony took place in August 2017. Only relatives and friends of the newlyweds were present. Both the pupils of the skater and their parents were invited. Her son Martin also found a common language with Irina's chosen one. However, the young man prefers to spend most of his time with his father.
Irina admitted in an interview that she dreams of a child, a girl, in common with her husband.
