Roshen Confectionery Corporation, founded by the Ukrainian President P. A. Poroshenko, has been producing products in Russia at the Lipetsk Confectionery Factory for many years. As of today, the production processes at the factory have been discontinued. But does this mean that Roshen products will no longer be sold in Russia?
The appearance of the P. A. Poroshenko factory in the city of Lipetsk
Initially, there was a bakery on the site of the factory, built in Soviet times. Later it was renamed into a bakery and confectionery plant. And in 2001 the plant was bought by P. A. Poroshenko. The name of the Roshen trademark was directly related to the surname of its founder. Therefore, the Lipetsk confectionery factory was named Roshen.
Development of the confectionery business
The first factory of P. A. Poroshenko was founded in 2001. He spared no effort or money for its development. The products were of high quality and were in demand throughout Russia. A year later, he decided to build a second factory in the village. Sentsovo (this was also the Lipetsk region). In 2012, the construction of a third factory began, but due to the difficult political relations between Russia and Ukraine, the facility was never put into operation.
One of the world leaders
Despite the fact that Lipetsk confectionery shop is closed, Roshen products are widely distributed all over the world. The brand has become one of the world leaders. Today, the products of this brand are successfully sold in more than 30 countries, including Russia.
Why Roshen products are still sold in Russia
At the moment, there is a letter from Rospotrebnadzor on the suspension of the import of Ukrainian products of the specified brand into Russia. However, despite the fact that the factory in Russia was closed, other manufacturers may well sell the products of the world famous brand. There is no prohibition on the specified sale under the current legislation.
Lipetsk factory is planned to be bought
Lipetsk confectionery "Roshen" is interesting to many. The main Russian contenders for its redemption are Slavyanka, Babaevsky, RotFront and others. Of course, it would be profitable to buy it out, because new jobs will appear in Russia, the range of products will noticeably expand, etc., but the general director does not intend to sell it to anyone for less than $ 200,000,000. However, according to experts, its real cost ranges from $ 10,000,000 to $ 15,000,000.
Is it possible to redeem
All production processes at the factory were discontinued in June 2017. According to the press, the reasons are very different - problems with Rospotrebnadzor, tax claims, large-scale fraud, etc. As a result, on the basis of the decision of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow, her property was arrested. According to the law, this situation means that the owner of Roshen cannot sell it. The seized property is sold by bailiffs.
