Vladimir Korchagin was born in 1924 on October 14 in the city of Kazan. Like other children of that time, he studied in an ordinary Soviet school. He did not have time to finish it due to the fact that he began to work very early, and then the Great Patriotic War began. He continued his studies after the war. In 1951, after graduating from the geological faculty of the university of his city, he continues to receive his education, becomes a candidate of geological and mineralogical sciences.

After this adventurous and informative book, which was published in 1962, the following, no less interesting and readable works of the author were published ("The Way to the Pass" (1968), "Astiian Edelweiss" (1982), "The End of the Legend" (1984), " In the Name of Humanity”(1989),“Prisoners of Fear”(1991),“Woman in Black”(2002),“Two Lives”(2004),“The Secret of the Taiga Camp”(2007).
