Maslennikov Igor Fedorovich was born on October 26, 1931 in the regional center of Sormovo near the city of Gorky. Igor's father, Fedor Pavlovich Maslennikov, worked all his life as an engineer at a construction enterprise, and his mother, Ekaterina Vasilievna, was engaged in housekeeping. The director's mother's family had aristocratic roots.

Young years of biography

The boy went to a comprehensive school in Leningrad, where in 1938 he moved with his family. A year after the beginning of his studies, Igor fell ill and underwent a complex operation. For this reason, he was forced to go home schooling. In his youth, Igor Fedorovich Maslennikov was very fond of drawing. After graduating from school, the young man decided to enter the art academy. However, he failed to pass the entrance tests. But the young man enters the Leningrad Philological Institute at the Faculty of Journalism. Having received a special education, Igor becomes a screenwriter for the youth newspaper "Young Leningrad", while working part-time in a theater studio.

In 1964, Igor Fedorovich was invited to work at the famous Leningrad film studio. However, after the filming of the scandalous film "I am a taxi driver", which was never released, Maslennikov, as the chief editor of the picture, receives a party penalty. The wording of the reprimand was as follows - "for belittling the heroic role of Leningraders." This was followed by expulsion from the Communist Party. After an unpleasant incident, Igor Fedorovich Maslennikov decides to change his occupation.

Creativity and success

In 1967 he received additional education and became a director. After several successful films, Maslennikov's directorial career began to creep up. The director gained particular fame after the release of his famous series about the adventures of the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes.

As a director, Igor Maslennikov participated in the creation of about 30 films, and in most of them as an artist and screenwriter. In 1979 he was awarded the title of Honored Art Worker. For his great services and personal contribution to the development of culture and art, the Leningrad director was awarded orders and state prizes. Since 1990, Igor Fedorovich has been teaching directing courses in his own workshop.

Personal life

The family life of the famous director began when he was a student. As a second year student, he married fellow student Inna Lepik. After two years of marriage, his wife gave him a son, Nikita. The family union lasted over 30 years.

However, the couple broke up, and Igor Fedorovich married a second time. Natalya Andreeva became his chosen one. In 1992, the couple had a daughter, Catherine. Today Maslennikov and his family happily live in an ordinary city apartment in St. Petersburg.
