The Constitution grants the citizens of Russia the right to freely move around the country and independently choose a place to live. But when the choice is made, it is necessary to report it to the Federal Migration Service and receive a mark of registration at the place of residence, which, from old memory, is often called a permanent residence permit.
Instructions
Step 1
Come to the territorial office of the Federal Migration Service, to which your new address of permanent residence belongs, taking with you your passport or other identity document. A stamp with a residence permit is placed only in a civil passport, bearers of other documents are issued a certificate of registration at the place of residence.
Step 2
Write an application addressed to the head of the territorial division of the Federal Migration Service according to the sample that the FMS staff will provide you with. Be careful when specifying passport data, write the name of the issuing authority in full.
Step 3
Show the document that serves as the basis for the check-in. These include: certificate of the right to inherit real estate; contract of sale; a court order on the right to use the dwelling; a statement from the person who provided housing (if you are registered with a relative). The FMS will accept original documents or duly certified copies.
Step 4
Invite all tenants already registered at this address to write consent to your move. For minors living the application is written by their legal representatives (parents or guardians).
Step 5
Attach a receipt confirming payment of the state duty for registration at the place of residence to the documents submitted. Thanks to the general technologization, you will most likely be able to pay the fee right at the FMS office in a special terminal. The inspector will accept the documents and within three days will give you a passport with a note about the new place of permanent residence.
