Mark Arkadievich Kurtser is a world-famous Russian obstetrician-gynecologist. Mark Kurtser was born in Moscow in June 1957. After leaving school in 1974, he entered the Pirogov Moscow State Medical Institute. Being a capable student, he began to assist in operations already in his third year. In 1980, Mark Arkadievich continued his postgraduate studies with a specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

From 1982 to 1994, Mark Arkadievich worked his way up at the Moscow State Medical Institute from an assistant of the department to an associate professor. Having defended his Ph. D. thesis in 1983 on the topic "Diagnosis of the state of the fetus during childbirth according to tissue partial oxygen tension", Mark Kurtser took the first step towards a successful career.
In 1994, Mark Arkadyevich Kurtser became the chief physician of the Center for Family Planning and Human Reproduction in Moscow. Combining his scientific activity with a high position, Mark Kurtser is actively developing new perinatal techniques and taking the Center for Pedagogical and Social Development to a higher level. In 1997 he was awarded the medal "In memory of the 850th anniversary of Moscow."
In 2001, Mark Kurtser defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Perinatal mortality and ways to reduce it." The degree opens up new opportunities for the doctor, and his talent is noticed in the Ministry of Health. In 2003, Mark Kurtser became the capital's chief obstetrician and gynecologist.
In addition to medical activities, Mark Arkadievich is actively involved in managerial work. In 2004, he convinces the Moscow government to allocate land for the construction of a new private perinatal center that meets all modern requirements. The project worth two billion rubles is financed by Sberbank and the pharmaceutical company Sia International.
The first private maternity hospital “Mother and Child”, opened in 2006, is becoming a multidisciplinary medical center that meets international standards and allows all types of diagnostics and surgical treatment to be carried out.
