Firefighter's Day is celebrated annually on April 30th. The tradition of celebrating this very day dates back to the time of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, who issued the "Order of the Gradsky Deanery". In this document, fire safety rules were prescribed, which provided for a constant watch in case of fire sources.

Sentinel-firefighter

The sentinels of the times of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, on the basis of the Tsar's decree, had the right to prosecute and punish residents of Moscow for failure to observe precautions when handling fire. The Tsar's decree was signed on April 30, 1649. Tsar Peter the Great went even further, he organized the first professional teams of firefighters, which were required to have all the county and provincial cities. These teams were already equipped with professional equipment - carts with barrels for water, hooks, axes. Under Peter I, the first fire station was organized, and the construction of a fire tower was ordered in cities and rural areas, on which sentinels were on duty. In the event of a fire, they sounded the alarm, notifying the district about the fire.

Everyday holiday

In modern Russia, the day of the firefighter was adopted by presidential decree on April 30, 1999. Supervision over compliance with fire safety rules is carried out by the State Fire Service, which is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. Fire brigades, who carry out their difficult service, have at their disposal modern equipment and means that help to successfully fight fire.

A holiday for most fire fighters is a labor day. They, like on any other day, keep watch and go out on calls, but there are some indulgences. For example, the "deserving" can leave the duty for home a couple of hours earlier, and take over the shift a couple of hours later, not to the detriment of the service, of course.

The ceremonial events involve mainly staff personnel, they also do important work that is simply not so visible. On the holiday, solemn constructions and parades are organized, concerts are organized, amateur groups from among fire fighters often perform.

In recent years, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has increasingly supported the creative endeavors of employees, and therefore on April 30, exhibitions of photographs of fire fighters or competitions of poetry are organized. Children's festivals are very popular, the performances of those children who were literally saved from the fire look especially touching.

Tasks

According to the relevant Law, the State Fire Service supervises construction projects and participates in the acceptance of constructed buildings. According to the rules followed by firefighters, all residential buildings and industrial premises must be equipped with an automatic warning system in the event of a fire. Firefighters supervise during construction to ensure that fire-fighting building materials or materials impregnated with a fire retardant are used.

All production facilities should be equipped with fire extinguishers as the primary fire extinguishing agent. Fire extinguishers should be located in an easily accessible place and regularly checked for validity. After the inspection, the fire inspector issues a certificate of the suitability of the fire extinguisher and sets the date for the next inspection. In rural areas, voluntary fire brigades of the DPD are created from the local residents. By order of the head of the DPD, each courtyard must have equipment for fighting fire. These are barrels of water, buckets, hooks, axes, with which the owner must arrive at the place of the fire.
