The location of various groups of troops of a character, their number and position on the battlefield are often decisive parameters that determine the outcome of the entire battle. Monsters of one large group, depending on the type of troops, should be divided into several parts for tactical reasons. And this division should be carried out before the start of the battle.

Step 1
Any hero in the game is given only seven positions to place his army. Moreover, in order to carry out the division of troops, the hero must have at least one empty position. Otherwise, there will be no place to put some of the monsters, selected from the main group. Free the required number of cells in the hero's garrison by moving them to any city friendly to you or giving them to another hero under your flag.
Step 2
Sometimes you need to get a free position in the army without leaving the place, so as not to spend points of the day's turn. In this case, free the army cell by placing the least needed group of monsters right on the playing field of the map. To do this, right-click on the map next to the hero. A window will open on the screen, where the entire army of your hero will be displayed at the bottom, and free fields on top. Select the group of troops to be deleted with the left mouse button and place it up by clicking on any free field.
Step 3
Divide the troops you need according to your tactics of the intended battle. To do this, open the mode for viewing the troops and characteristics of your hero. Double-click the left mouse button on the hero's image in the game's auxiliary menu located on the screen to the right.
Step 4
You will be presented with your character's functionality window. At the bottom of the window is the hero's army and all empty positions. Select the split group of monsters with the mouse and right-click on the split troops icon in the lower right corner of the window. Next, click on a free cell in the hero's army.
Step 5
In the window that opens, move the troop division slider until the displayed number of monsters is set to the value you need. Click the button in the box with a check mark to confirm your division of this group. The vacant position will be filled with a detached group of troops. Repeat this action with each part of the army that requires division.
