Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin was a loving man. And women were fascinated by this handsome poet. It is not surprising that Yesenin had several civil and official marriages.
Sergei Yesenin is a truly popular Russian poet. His poems, testimonies of contemporaries tell that although he lived a short, but stormy life. Over the years, Sergei Alexandrovich managed not only to create many poetic masterpieces, but also to marry several times, to give birth to four children.
Anna Izryadnova and Zinaida Reich
The great Russian poet had 3 official and the same number of civil wives. The first lover of Sergei Alexandrovich was Anna Romanovna Izryadnova. The young people met at the printing house. Anna has already worked here. And since 1913, Yesenin began to work in this printing house. Soon the young man and the girl began to live together, and 1914 marked the completion of the family. Sergei and Anna had a son, who was named Yuri.
As the wife of the poet Yesenin recalls, although her husband was only 19 years old at that time, he became a wonderful father. When Izryadnova returned with the baby from the hospital, the apartment was in perfect order. So Sergei prepared for the arrival of his wife and first-born. At first, Yesenin was a wonderful father - he sang lullabies to his son, rocked him. But a month later, the poet got tired of this role and began to live separately. He occasionally visited Anna with the child.
The son loved his father very much. When the child grew up a little, he knew by heart all the poems of Sergei Alexandrovich. Yuri's fate was tragic. In 1936, on a denunciation, he was arrested, and in 1937 he was shot. His mother, until her death in 1970, was still waiting for the return of her beloved son. After all, she was not told what really happened. Officially, Anna Romanovna was informed that her son was sentenced to 10 years in prison. In 1956, Yuri Yesenin was rehabilitated.
The first official wife of the great poet was Zinaida Nikolaevna Reich. They got married in 1917. And a year later, a replenishment took place in the family, a daughter, Tatiana, was born. Two years later, the son of Kostya was born. But since the spouses, due to official and personal needs, often had to part, their marriage soon broke up. The young divorced officially in 1921. Then Zinaida Nikolaevna married Vsevolod Meyerhold. Reich's life ended tragically. In the summer of 1939, a woman was killed in her apartment. This incident is associated with the NKVD, as it happened shortly after the arrest of her new husband Meyerhold.
Galina Benislavskaya and Isadora Duncan
In November 1920, Sergei Yesenin attended a literary evening and met Galina Benislavskaya here. Soon, the young people began a close relationship.
But the poet had a loving heart. When the birthday of Sergei Alexandrovich was celebrated in October 1921, the dancer Isadora Duncan was brought here. She was 46 at the time. The American ballerina saw a beautiful poet, heard Yesenin recite poetry and immediately fell in love with him. On the same evening, Yesenin left for the mansion of the American dancer, and Benislavskaya was left alone in her room.
Isadora did everything to make her beloved happy, who was almost twice her age. She paid for revelry, fruit, wine - everything that Sergei loved.
But when Isadora realized that he was drinking too much, she took Yesenin to her homeland in America. Here the couple was officially married. Yesenin was glad that he is now the husband of a famous foreign woman.
But abroad the poet did not have such fame as in Russia. Yes, and the former passion for Duncan has subsided. Therefore, over time, Sergei returned to his homeland.
Here the enamored Galina Benislavskaya was waiting for him. The poet returned to her room in a communal apartment. The woman tried to do everything for him: she knocked the thresholds of the editorial offices in order to knock out fees, tried to scare off her drinking buddies. But Yesenin said that he sees in her only a friend.
Galina loved this joker so much that after his death she ended up in a psychiatric hospital. Then the girl went to the grave of her lover and shot herself.
So terribly her dream came true - to be with Yesenin. After all, 29-year-old Galina was buried next to her lover.
Nadezhda Volpin and Sophia Tolstaya
Nadezhda also wrote poetry. This common hobby at first brought young people closer together. The first time they saw each other was at the celebration of the second anniversary of the October Revolution. Yesenin was invited to the stage, but he said that he was reluctant to read poetry. Then Nadezhda approached Sergei and asked him to do it all the same. The poet smiled and said that he reads for her with pleasure.
Sergey and Nadezhda began to meet. But their relationship did not end with an official marriage. Yesenin set a condition for the girl to stop writing poetry. Then they could get married. But Volpin did not pretend to legitimize the relationship.
And in May 1924, the couple had a son. But his father never saw him, since by this time the young had parted and did not maintain a relationship.
The last wife of Sergei Yesenin is Sofia Andreevna Tolstaya. The poet was proud of this marriage, since he became related to such a famous family, having married the granddaughter of Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy.
It would seem that Sergei Alexandrovich's life has improved. But the quiet family nest was no longer for him. Yesenin was still carried away by carousing, love affairs. He told his wife that he felt an imminent death. And so it happened. On December 28, 1925, the poet died.
