Dmitry Rybolovlev is a well-known Russian entrepreneur and billionaire who is one of the twenty richest people in Russia. What is interesting about his biography and personal life?
Rybolovlev's biography
Dmitry was born on November 22, 1966 in Perm. His parents were famous doctors in the city. They wanted the child to follow in their footsteps too. Already in his school years Rybolovlev studied well. And after receiving secondary education, he entered the Perm Medical Institute. His future entrepreneur graduated with excellent marks in 1990.
At this time, perestroika began in the country, and it was quite difficult to survive on a doctor's salary. It is for this reason that Dmitry invited his parents to open a private clinic that would treat the wealthy people of the city. This is how the first company registered for a young man appeared in Perm.
After a successful start, Rybolovlev receives the necessary license and becomes the founder of a large investment fund. Dmitry is also gradually buying up all local enterprises that produce various chemicals, fertilizers, and so on.
Rybolovlev was invited to the board of directors of a large enterprise "Uralkali" and after a short time he became the general director with a block of shares of more than 70%.
At this time, crime was flourishing in Russia, so big money promised huge problems. Dmitry was accused of murdering the director of one of the enterprises, which was also led by an enterprising manager. For this Rybolovlev had to spend about a year behind bars, but the court released him on bail of 1 billion rubles. After some time, it was established that this case was fabricated on purpose in order to remove another competitor from the business and Dmitry was fully acquitted.
In 2005 Rybolovlev became the main co-founder of Uralkali and entered into a cooperation agreement with OJSC Belarusian Potash Company. This corporation becomes the world's largest fertilizer producer. This merger allows Rybolovlev to list the company's shares on the London Stock Exchange.
To ensure a quiet life abroad, Rybolovlev in 2007 decided to get rid of Russian assets and sold Uralkali and other companies. This brings him an unprecedented profit of about $ 10 billion.
After that, Dmitry becomes the founder of the Cyprus Bank, buys luxury real estate around the world and moves to live in Monaco. There, in 2011, he buys a football team, which he immediately leads to the leaders of the French championship.
In addition, Rybolovlev begins to collect valuable paintings. His collection is estimated at over $ 2 billion. It contains paintings by artists such as Picasso, Modigliani, Van Gogh and so on. Dmitry also buys several Greek islands.
Now Rybolovlev is busy building a super-modern yacht, which will have a length of about 120 meters. He also sells some of his paintings at the annual auction. In 2017, Leonardo Da Vinci's painting "Savior of the World" was sold for a record 400 million euros.
Rybolovlev's personal life
Dmitry rarely advertises the details of his personal life and tries to keep everything secret. The businessman married back in 1987 to his classmate at the institute, Elena Chuprakova, who gave birth to two daughters. In 2008, she filed for divorce, which brought her about 0.5 billion euros.
After that, Rybolovlev was in no hurry to start serious relationships with women and start a family. He was repeatedly seen in the community of the Belarusian model Tatyana Diaghileva, but the matter did not go beyond ordinary communication. Dmitry is also friends with the entrepreneur Anna Barsukova and spends a lot of free time with her.
Rybolovlev often attends Monaco's home matches, and this is his main hobby today.
