The piano, or grand piano, is a ubiquitous keyboard instrument that conquers with its variety and splendor. The piano is the only instrument that teaches the two hemispheres of the brain to function independently of each other. The grand piano, as a kind of piano, is by far the most complex instrument (only the organ is more difficult). In order to play this wonderful instrument, you need to have incredible endurance and a huge amount of patience.
The first instrument appeared at the beginning of the 18th century in Italy. The piano replaced the equally popular harpsichord that preceded it. The piano has gained many distinctive features, such as the ability to change the strength of the sound and play more smoothly, which the older versions of the instrument did not have.
There are not so many varieties of the instrument itself: a grand piano and a piano. Their difference consists only in the size and position of the strings, on which the size depends: the piano is horizontal, and the piano is vertical. In general, the construction of a piano, in addition to keys, includes strings and hammers, so it can partially be classified as strings and percussion. The instrument also has pedals that, when pressed, can make the sound longer or fainter.
The grand piano is also quite bulky. Also, the total stress of all strings in the instrument reaches eight tons. Also, the tool is quite expensive. The most expensive of this kind is the Crystal Piano - its price is 3.22 million dollars. It's no secret that it's hard to play on. The heaviest of the thousands of pieces ever written for piano is Rachmaninoff's Third Concerto with Orchestra.
To achieve the desired sound, that is, to tune the piano, you need to periodically file the hammers that knock on the strings - this action changes the rigidity and tension in certain areas. The piano can be used both as a solo instrument and in playing with an orchestra. Learning to play the instrument takes from 5 to 7 years, and this is a rather difficult, but entertaining process, in which absolutely everyone can participate.
