The series "Black Pearl" is a famous Argentinean telenovela, which was released in 1994 and since then has gathered millions of fans under its wing. The story of a girl abandoned by her own mother and raised in a boarding house has become incredibly popular in many countries. The series tells about love, betrayal and revenge, about devotion and deserved happiness.

The main characters of the series are the stars of Argentine cinema - the beauty Andrea del Boca and the blue-eyed heartthrob Gabriel Corrado. Also, the success of "Black Pearl" was ensured by Andrea's relatives - her father, Nicholas del Boca, became the director of the series, the costumes for the film were made under the supervision of Andrea's sister, Annabelle, and the script was written by the actress's son-in-law, Enrique Torres. The series was produced by a friend of the del Boca family and the permanent co-author of all their other projects, the famous Argentine director Raul Lecuna.
In addition to playing the lead role, Andrea del Boca recorded several songs from her debut album for the series soundtrack.
Black Pearl was filmed for nine months. Filming took place both in Argentina and in foreign countries - Israel and Venezuela, which Andrea simply adores. Nicolas del Boca was actively involved in the filming process, demanding maximum commitment from the actors, and as a result, his work brought the series incredible success. After the series was released, Nicholas took a two-year hiatus from his directing career, and Andrea moved to New York, where she studied directing and even graduated from university.
The plot of the "Black Pearl"
The plot of the series is based on the fact that a lady from high society falls in love with a young doctor and gives birth to an illegitimate child from him. To avoid a scandal and hide treason from her husband, who himself is constantly cheating on his wife, the woman gives her newborn girl to a good boarding school. To pay for the maintenance and upbringing of her daughter, the lady gives the mistress of the institution twenty-two black pearls.
The girl was named Pearl precisely because of these jewels, because in translation from a foreign language “pearl” means “pearl”.
Growing up Pearl grows up as a lively and restless child who has many friends and the best friend named Eva. When the girls grow up, Eva meets a wealthy womanizer Thomas and gives birth to a child from him. Thomas does not recognize himself as a father and leaves Eve alone with the harsh reality. After some time, Eva finds out that she is the heiress of a huge fortune - the girl moves to a metropolis and takes her faithful friend Pearl with her. However, as a result of a tragic car accident, Eva dies. The surviving Perla, Eve's relatives take for the deceased heiress and take her to their home. Taking the opportunity, Perla decides to take revenge on Thomas for the broken heart of her friend, but everything turns out to be not so simple …
