Biography
It is not surprising that in his books Aleksey Vasilyevich correctly described the life of the village, peasant labor, because he comes from the countryside. A. V. Zverev was born in 1913 in Siberia, in an old village called Ust-Kud.
The family was large and friendly. Everyone was accustomed to working from an early age, so they were brought up, and there was a need for it. After all, what the peasants had on the table was mainly grown by their own hands. The income of the family depended on how much they could sow grain, plant vegetables, take care of the garden, and harvest.
The available livestock was also a good help. In early childhood, Alexei already looked after chickens and ducklings. And when the child was 7 years old, he was taught to ride a horse. So he began to harrow, haul hay. Fishing was also one of the most important activities, providing food on the table, and a rest from hard work.
The family not only knew how to work heroically, but also sing and joke. The Zverevs were famous throughout the village - they were excellent storytellers, artists, knew how to play the harmonica, balalaika, guitar.
Nobody in the family smoked, vodka was rare.
Career
Alexey Zverev managed not only to work, but also to study. And the boy's school success was excellent. At that time, a commune was created in the village, she then sent thirteen-year-old Alyosha to study as a zootechnician at an agricultural technical school.
Instead of a scholarship, he was given one and a half pounds of grain. Although it was hungry, Alexei Vasilyevich Zverev remained grateful for the rest of his life to the Communards for sending him then to study.
Having received his education, he returned to his native village. And since the country was waging a struggle against universal illiteracy, Alexei Vasilyevich became a teacher. He has worked in this specialty for 40 years.
At the beginning of World War II, the teacher went to the front, he was an artilleryman-mortarman.
