Scientists still fail to confirm the existence of the soul with absolute certainty. Nevertheless, a person's belief in the presence of a soul is so strong that he does not need scientific evidence.
Scientific point of view
Scientists are close to the idea that the soul is an energy clot that is located inside the human body. It is formed in the womb and leaves the body a few days after death. The existence of such a bunch of energy was proved several tens of years ago. Nowadays, there are many devices that can determine its shape, size and spectral color. However, until now there is not a single scientific proof that it is this energy cloud that is the human soul.
Plato
The ancient Greek Plato believed that outwardly the soul looks like one whole. Whereas inside a person it is a combination of a person, a lion and a chimera, which coexist in one body. A narrow-minded person starves his inner appearance with spiritual hunger and feeds the many-headed beast, while a rational person tries to be just, taming the lion and ennobling the chimera. Plato presented this image as an allegory, which he tried to explain the actions of a person.
Presentation of the soul by the peoples of the world
Representatives of the Eskimo people believe that the soul exactly repeats the appearance of the body. However, it is translucent and airy.
The Nootka Indians living on the island of the same name believe that the soul is like a small copy of a person 30-50 centimeters tall. At night, he can leave the physical body and walk around the house.
The ancient Slavs, who lived in the Western European part of Russia, believed that the soul is like a translucent cloud of smoke that can take on any shape. It was believed to be in the area between the throat and stomach. Ancient people believed that it grows and grows old with a person, feeding on the vapors of the food that he consumes.
The first settlers of Sloboda Ukraine had a belief that the soul is a tiny person with a transparent body that protects its owner. And the inhabitants of the Vladimir region believed in the same little man, but they imagined him without bones.
Many peoples of the world had beliefs according to which the souls of dead or even living people in a state of sleep can take the form of animals, insects or trees.
