An old legend says that Satan created the mirror in order to corrupt the minds and souls of people through it. The attitude towards mirrors has changed over time, but in some rituals and traditions, the mirror is associated with a negative impact on the soul, including for the deceased person. The task of close people is to create conditions under which the transition to another world will be the least traumatic.
Mirrors and looking glass
It is believed that a parallel world is hidden behind the mirror surface - a reflection of reality or its complete opposite. The world through the looking glass is a trap for the soul, a living person often looks at himself in the mirror to assess his appearance. According to legend, Satan created this trap in order to cultivate one of the deadly sins in people - pride. For a deceased person, looking through the looking glass can have disastrous consequences - the soul can be caught in the mirror and until the mirror breaks, it will be doomed to live in this world, to suffer and suffer. From old beliefs, one can learn that if the mirror was not hung when the deceased was in the house, then after a while it began to grow cloudy, signs, scratches and cracks appeared on it “from the inside”. This imprisoned soul, with her breath and signs, made her relatives understand that the mirror captivated her, and it must be destroyed.
In fortune-telling that has come down to the present from the depths of centuries, it is said that under certain conditions in the mirror one can see the spirits of ancestors, the future, the betrothed.
Energy of death
Parapsychologists believe that at the moment of a person's death, there is a huge energy surge, so the soul leaves the body. A mirror, like a film of a camera, can capture these energetic disturbances and leave a visual image of how the person felt at the moment of death. Astral body
When studying ancient traditions, one cannot exclude the theory of the multi-layered astral body, according to which each person has astral counterparts, which can be seen in the reflection of a mirror. That is why it is not recommended to look in the mirror often during life - to “waste” your soul. At the moment of death of the body, the twins unite and must leave this world together, but the soul that looks into the mirror can leave a part of itself in the reflection, and therefore the transition to the other world will not be completed to the end. One part of the soul will remain in the world of the living, the other will strive to infinity, such hovering between the worlds negatively affects the astral body and brings suffering to it.
