Brief biography of Sergei Ursulyak

The future famous director Sergei Ursulyak was born in the family of a serviceman in 1958 in Khabarovsk. Due to the specifics of his father's profession, the childhood and youth of our hero passed in constant travels in the Far East.

The boy showed special interest in the world of theater and cinema because of his grandmother, who lived in the Moscow region and constantly took him on vacation to various metropolitan theaters and philharmonic societies. That is why, immediately after graduating from high school, Sergei went to the capital of our Motherland and from the first time entered the "Pike" at the faculty of Evgeny Rubenovich Simonov. And then there were "Satyricon" and several dozen roles over eleven years of life on the stage.

However, all the dreams of the young man were not occupied by the acting profession in the theater, but by cinema and only in the directorial role. After two unsuccessful attempts to enter VGIK, Sergei was still able to get into the higher directing courses in the workshop of Vladimir Motyl in 1990. And in 1993 his diploma work "Russian Ragtime" brought the "Kinotavr" award and general recognition.

Further professional work of Ursulyak is fanned by his indispensable achievements in the field of directing cinema, which is reflected in his unique filmography.

The personal life of our hero is marked by two marriages. The first wife of the master was the actress Galina Nadirli. In this family union, a daughter, Sasha, was born. However, an office romance with Lika Nifontova on the stage of Satyrikon grew in 1986 into an official marriage after a mutual break with her previous spouses (Lika was also married to Yuri Nifontov, Sergei's university classmate).

In the second marriage, a daughter, Daria, was born, who, like her older half-sister, followed in the footsteps of her parents and became an actress.
