Armik Dashchi (Dashchizade, Dashchyan) rarely agrees to an interview. And he does not tell his personal life. The maestro does not give concerts, preferring to work in the studio.
The path to the vocation
The biography of the future celebrity began in 1950. The boy was born in 1950 in Tehran in a family of immigrants from Armenia. The guitar attracted the kid in childhood. The child learned to play himself in secret from everyone.
The parents did not suspect about their son's hobby until they accidentally heard the boy's game. The boy's talent impressed the adults so much that they decided to organize his studies.
A couple of years later, Armik graduated from the course, from the age of 12 he masterly performed the most difficult parts. The recognized professional started as a jazz guitarist. In the seventies, the musician often performed in Spain, improving his skills and gaining experience. It was then that the guitarist was fascinated by the flamenco style.
Success
Since that time, Armik has become one of the most loyal adherents of the direction that allows you to conduct a conversation without words.
In 1981, the musician moved to America. In 1994 his first album was released. Rain Dancer peaked at number nine on the Billboard charts. A special place in the life of the master is occupied by Paco de Lucia, whom Armic calls his teacher. For the inspiration, he thanks the mentor in his solo album.
The guitarist presented a new compilation album in 1995. Gypsy Flame quickly climbed to the top of the charts.
The new disc was named after the instrument the maestro played. The Rubia guitar was presented to him by the famous master Pedro Maldonado himself. The new solo compilation Malaga has a surprisingly romantic attitude. Numerous experiments made it possible to combine Mediterranean motives with the rhythms of Brazilian samba and flamenco melody.
