The film became one of the most successful projects of David Fincher and earned more than 200 million dollars with a budget of $ 40 million in the United States alone. Critics and viewers greeted the new work of the master with enthusiasm, because the picture was not only created with the highest professionalism, but also convincingly set an example of the so-called "American dream", when an ordinary student with the help of an extraordinary mind and talent of a programmer becomes the youngest multi-billionaire in history.
The film has received a large number of different awards, including three gold Oscars in 2010 - for the best script, editing and music for the film. At the same time, the picture was nominated for an award in eight nominations.
The film shows how Zuckerberg gradually founded the Facebook empire and how much a successfully implemented idea can play in the world. Fincher tried to be true in his film and described the litigation between Zuckerberg and his former partner, who left the project. Not without morality in the film. Having earned billions of dollars and launched the project, which was joined by more than half a billion users, the protagonist of the film never managed to improve his personal life, therefore, according to the director, fabulous money is certainly not a panacea and a cure for all social diseases. The ending of the film shows us how Zuckerberg is going to call the girl who left him.
Mark Zuckerberg's opinion on the film
Mark Zuckerberg himself took the film cool enough. At first, he said that he would not watch the picture at all, but then, unable to cope with curiosity, he still watched it until the final credits. After watching The Social Network, Zuckerberg criticized the film, noting that the filmmakers wanted to maintain believability with the clothes he allegedly wears.
Zuckerberg felt that the writers of the film put too much trust in the author of the book on which the film was made, and did not believe that he could create Facebook just because he just likes to create.
Zuckerberg expressed his bewilderment that the film was exposed so that he created Facebook only to please girls, and said that the end of the film is completely wrong and he still meets with his girlfriend Priscilla Chan, the dialogue with which was shown in the beginning of the film.
