The younger generation is regularly accused. Both the addictions that are harmful to health and the state of mind of the “new” person are condemned. It is not difficult to bring an entire generation under one line and endow it with the same qualities. However, it will be more productive, together with the statement of symptoms, to determine the causes of their occurrence.

Why are young people scolded

One of the common accusations against young people is infantilism. Having overcome the line of age, the young man is not eager to shoulder the burden of any obligations. He does not seek to solve emerging problems. He has his own method of struggle - to avoid everything that can cause harm, inconvenience, discomfort. There is even a special term for such types - "Peter Pan syndrome", that is, an adult child. And parents often unwittingly nourish such an attitude towards life in a child from an early age - after all, this is the only child, blood, on whose cultivation so much effort was put in. All that a person wants in this state is comfort, coziness, entertainment. This leads to the second problem of modern youth - the consumer attitude to life. This is what those who are earning at this time use. Young people instill an image of the desired thing, pull the price for it, then replace the annoying toy with a new one. Such free management of the masses is possible with the preparedness of consumers. Their thinking is already adapted to this scheme of life. Young people who spend a lot of time on the Internet do not view the world in the same way as their parents. In the conditions of an immense and growing flow of information, the ability to fully perceive it is lost. Therefore, a person snatches out only scraps of skillfully presented information and instantly uses them for his own purposes, and then forgets. The ability to simultaneously perform several tasks, to diffuse attention, appeared. But at the same time, the need to stop, think, and independently analyze information disappears. It is not surprising that, as a result, interest in learning disappears. Unless knowledge, like entertainment content, is enticingly packaged, the consumer is unlikely to want to spend time (much time!) Acquiring it. Moreover, the benefits of education for young people are not obvious. After all, you can buy a diploma, and in many workplaces they do not look at the depth of knowledge at all. These motives are heard in accusations against young people: it has already become a tradition to mention that students and schoolchildren do not know their native language, do not remember history, do not value science. The change in values is generally characteristic of the generation. After all, its representatives were children in those years when the ideals of the Soviet era were destroyed and in their place they were chaotically and hastily trying to build a new system. As a result, the emerging personality has lost its stable reference points. The fruits of this situation are evident today. In 2007, the Pitirim Sorokin Foundation conducted a study of the hierarchy of values of young people in Russia. Most of the respondents gave the first place to material well-being. Then, in descending order, there were individualism, career, family, stability, freedom, respect for elders, faith in God, patriotism, duty and honor. Although high spiritual qualities were at the bottom of the list, they are still present in it. And this means that you cannot recklessly scold the youth. The situation is not so straightforward. In the mass, which are accustomed to accuse of ignorance and infantilism, upon closer examination, one can discern intelligent, hardworking, talented people. And those who are deservedly scolded are only a reflection of the situation common to the entire population. The causes of the problems are systemic and depend not only on young people. In addition, the young man's hometown, country, and the world are constantly evolving. And it would be strange if the new generation did not adapt to these changes, did not integrate into the environment in which it needs to live.
