One of the genres of formal business style is the letter of thanks. When writing it, you must adhere to the established rules. And if it is addressed to a veteran, you should approach its writing with special attention.
Instructions
Step 1
Veteran is an official title that is given for special merit. A veteran of war, labor, any industry (for example, a veteran of the nuclear industry) is a person whose qualities are marked at the state level. Therefore, such people should be treated with special attention. And the first thing to do when writing a letter to a veteran is to clarify how his surname, name and patronymic are spelled correctly, and what is his full veteran title.
Step 2
Compose the text of the thank you letter based on the rules of the official business style.
The letter to the veteran should be started with an address, for example: "Dear Viktor Kuzmich!" Remember that the name of the veteran is not indicated in the appeal, it is entered only when filling out the "header" of the letter (where the name of the addressee and his full veteran title are entered), or when writing the mailing address.
After the appeal, there should be a text that expresses gratitude and describes the reasons for contacting the veteran. For example: “We sincerely thank you for your help in replenishing the collection of the school museum of military glory. The exhibits presented by you are of great cultural and historical value. And they are able to play a significant role in the patriotic education of schoolchildren."
It must be remembered that when writing a letter of thanks to the addressee, you need to contact "You", with a capital (capital) letter.
After the main text, you need to put the date and indicate the name of the sender. If you are planning to type a letter on a computer or typewriter, leave room for a handwritten signature - the veteran will be doubly pleased to receive a letter with the sender's personal signature, because this is a kind of sign of respect.
Step 3
After the draft of the thank you letter is drawn up, you need to transfer the text to a letterhead or postcard. This is required by the rules of good form. After all, if an ordinary official letter (notification, warning, notice) is allowed to be written on plain paper, then a thank you letter requires a more solemn registration.
