The future general was born on September 19, 1965 in a military family. Parents at that time lived in Moscow. My father served in one of the divisions of the State Security Committee. Mother worked as a teacher. The child grew up and developed in a calm and businesslike environment. From an early age he was raised as an ordinary man. Protecting the frontiers
The school trained fighters and commanders in various military specialties. After graduating from college, Alexander Matovnikov was seconded to serve in the famous anti-terrorist special unit "Alpha". An internship for a young officer in combat conditions on the territory of Afghanistan. The first clashes and loss of friends took place during this period. The next stage was the service in the department for the protection of the first persons of the state. In this capacity, Matovnikov accompanied Mikhail Gorbachev, General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee, during a meeting with US President Ronald Reagan.
The career of the commandos was going well. Alexander had to visit all the hot spots in the Caucasus. After thirty years of impeccable service, he was transferred to the Ministry of Defense. Matovnikov prepared special operations operations in Syria. In 2017 he was awarded the title "Hero of the Russian Federation". After a short period of time, in June 2018, Alexander Matovnikov was appointed Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District.
Recognition and privacy
For participation in hostilities and carrying out special operations, Matovnikov was awarded the orders "Courage", Alexander Nevsky, "For services to the Fatherland." The general puts on medals and insignia only on special occasions.
