Nikolai Pogodin's talent was clearly manifested back in the 50s of the last century. Accordion player Sasha from the cult film "Girls" captivated the audience with his spontaneity. Most often, Pogodin got supporting roles, or even episodic ones. But even using the example of such characters, he was able to show the full breadth of the Russian soul and the liveliness of the nature of the working people.
From the biography of Nikolai Nikolaevich Pogodin
The future actor was born in the Moscow region of Istra on November 18, 1930. His family had nothing to do with creativity: his parents were ordinary employees.
For the first time on the set, Nikolai appeared when he was only seven years old. The boy was offered a small role in the movie "Gavroche". It was at that time that Pogodin had a dream of an acting profession.
Kolya's childhood was not at all cloudless. When the war began, he was ten years old. The Pogodin family went through the horrors of the occupation: in the fall of 1941, Istra was captured by the Nazis for a month. When the city was liberated, the Pogodins moved to Dedovsk.
The choice is made
After graduating from eight classes, Nikolai went to study at the capital's railway technical school. He chose for himself the specialty of an electrical technician. But in his specialty he did not even work for two years: the young man was still attracted by the profession of an actor.
In 1952, Pogodin nevertheless decided to take an important step in his life. He submitted documents to VGIK. And he did it on the first try. The famous Yuli Raizman was the head of Nikolai's course.
In his student years, Pogodin again found himself on the set. He was offered to play a small role in the war film "Soldiers". In this picture, Nikolai created the image of Lieutenant Karnaukhov.
Creativity and achievement
In 1957, Pogodin graduated from VGIK and became a member of the troupe of the Film Actor's Studio Theater. In this team, Pogodin worked for about twenty years. And yet fame came to Nikolai as a movie actor.
Having received a university diploma, Nikolai began to actively act in films. He agreed to any role, even episodic ones. He started with the roles of officers. In the film "The City Lights the Lights" Pogodin played a front-line intelligence officer with a difficult fate. In subsequent years, Nikolai created memorable characters in military melodramas. Among them: "The sun shines for everyone", "A soldier's heart".
But Pogodin became a real "star" of Soviet cinema after the release of the film "Girls". Here he created the image of the accordion player Sasha, who courted Katya. The bright and cheerful hero of the film was liked and remembered by millions of viewers.
After this undoubted success, the directors vied with each other to offer Pogodin the role of representatives of the working people: tractor drivers, accordionists, workers. Almost all of Pogodin's heroes were positive.
At a more mature age, Nikolai Nikolaevich often played law enforcement officers and high-ranking officials. Example: the film "Kalina Krasnaya", where Pogodin created the image of the head of a state farm.
In 1977, Nikolai resigned from the Theater-Studio of the Film Actor and began working in the staff of the Gorky Film Studio. He still agreed to any role, even the most subtle.
In the difficult 90s for Russian cinema, Pogodin was forced to make odd jobs. After filming the film "Composition for Victory Day" (1997), the actor was no longer filmed.
Personal life of Nikolai Pogodin
The actor did not discuss his personal life with anyone. It is known that he had a wife, her name was Lydia. In 1962, the couple had a daughter, Elena. A few years after the birth of their daughter, the Pogodins divorced. After that, Nikolai did not communicate with his ex-wife and hardly saw his daughter.
The actor passed away on December 15, 2003. He was buried in Dedovsk.
