Kinotavr is one of the largest film festivals dedicated to cinema in Russian. It has been held for many years, 2012 was no exception. In early June, he gathered in Sochi almost all the stars of Russian cinema.

Step 1
The opening of the 2012 festival took place on June 3 in Sochi. This event became the twenty-third in a row. It took place at the Winter Theater. A blue carpet was laid out in front of the building, in keeping with the tradition of many film festivals. On it one could see many Russian actors and directors, for example, Sergei Makovetsky, Fyodor Bondarchuk, Oksana Zakharova, Dmitry Dyuzhev and others.
Step 2
On the very first day, the first award was also presented. It was received by director Karen Shakhnazarov for his contribution to Russian cinema. After that, a film from the competition program of the event was shown - "Until the night does part". In total, from June 3 to 10, 15 films were shown, which could be seen by both jury members and ordinary viewers. The festival program was quite varied and included films with various themes - family dramas, tragicomedies, short films, and so on.
Step 3
The jury of the event included the most authoritative figures of Russian cinema. Among them was Vladimir Khotinenko, who headed the expert commission.
Step 4
According to the results of the competition, the main prize went to the film "I'll Be Near", which tells about a sick mother looking for adoptive parents for her son. One of the actresses who received the award was Anna Mikhailkova from the famous acting dynasty, noted for her role in the film "Cococo". Also, her partner in the film Anna Troyanova received the award for Best Actress.
Step 5
Prizes were awarded not only to actors and directors, but also to screenwriters. For example, Mikhail Segal, known not only for his work in cinema, but also for his writing, became the laureate.
Step 6
All awards, with the exception of the honorary one awarded to Karen Shakhnazarov, were handed over to the cinematographers on the last day of the festival, during the closing ceremony.
