The times when the song helped us build and live are still fresh in our memory. And every capable person took part in the construction of houses, factories, cities and their own destiny. Today's songs are more often tuned and guided towards self-affirmation. Fatigue builds up from obsessive edification and noise effects. And in moments of fatigue, it is so pleasant to listen to the optimistic sound of Maria Pakhomenko's voice.
The girl came
According to many music critics, the biography of Maria Leonidovna Pakhomenko can serve as a role model for aspiring vocalists. The girl was born in a small Belarusian village. The child grew up in an atmosphere of love and care. Relatives later joked that Masha began to sing before pronouncing the letter "r". Soon the family moved to Leningrad. As a schoolgirl, the future pop star participated in all amateur shows. Moreover, she sang during breaks between lessons. Sometimes even during class. And she sang well.
Having received a certificate of maturity, the girl, after some hesitation, decided to apply to the radio technical school. She did not study well, since she devoted all her time to classes in the amateur performances of the local Palace of Culture. A little later, experts determined that Maria possesses not only a unique voice, but also perfect pitch. The work of a radio installer did not attract her at all, and the girl entered a music school. Having received a special education, Maria Leonidovna came to work to teach music and singing at school.
However, the teaching experience was less than six months. It was at that moment that the Leningrad Pop Music Ensemble was being formed. Maria Pakhomenko easily overcame the qualifying tests and was accepted by the soloist of this group. It was from that moment that her stage career began. Among the leaders of the ensemble was Alexander Kolker, a young and talented composer. For some time he had been looking for a singer, "for whom" he wanted to write his songs. And now a lucky chance brought them together.
The charm of modesty
I must say that the singer's personal life was boring. She did not have to converge and disperse, divide property and blame male inconstancy. A few months after they met, Alexander Kolker made Maria an offer, which she did not think to refuse. Thus, professional partners became husband and wife. The first result, the real success of joint creativity, is the song "The Badass Wind Shakes". On television and on the radio, it sounded in 1964.
Nowadays, few people know that Soviet performers successfully took part in foreign pop song competitions. And one of the first singers who “broke through the iron curtain” was Maria Pakhomenko. For the spectacular performance of Soviet songs, she was awarded the "Big Prize" at the MIDEM recording competition, which is regularly held in France. This was in 1968. And yet, three years later, Maria brings the “Grand Prix” of the “Golden Orpheus” from Bulgaria. When you write about such achievements, you just want to edifyingly tell the young - they would study, looking at the elders.
When the Russian stage became crowded with a young replenishment, Maria Leonidovna continues to work on television. He conducts his own program “Visiting Pakhomenko”. She knows well how the stage lives, and what processes are hidden from prying eyes. In 1999, the singer was awarded the title of People's Artist of Russia. They make films about her, write articles in newspapers and magazines. But with age, she weakens and spends more and more time at home. The singer passed away on March 8, 2013.
