Plot description
Ivan Prokhorov, a Russian special forces soldier, was nicknamed "St. John's Wort" as a child from his herbalist grandfather. Ivan's relatives died tragically, and he himself suffered an injury, after which he had the gift of foresight. With the help of this gift, Prokhorov searches for criminals and saves people. Over time, St. John's wort in the rank of an officer was transferred to Moscow, where he received the position of an employee of a special department, in which especially complex crimes were solved. His foresight is growing stronger and is invaluable in the investigation of cases of national importance.
The main roles in the TV series "St. John's Wort" were played by Dmitry Ulyanov, Yulia Sharikova, Yulia Melnikova and Euclid Kurdzidis.
The leadership is confident in the uniqueness of Prokhorov and counts on his help in the most intricate and complex crimes, so St. John's wort is sent to investigate such cases as the mysterious deaths of famous people, identifying a network of drug dealers, catching members of criminal gangs, an explosion on the railway, crimes in medicine, and so on. Further. But, in addition to work, Prokhorov must defend his life, because a killer named Kapkan continues to hunt him. In the third season of the series, Kapkan developed amnesia caused by drugs, as a result of which he invented a new legend for himself and became imbued with sympathy for Maria, Prokhorov's wife. The relationship between Ivan and Maria is tangled, but St. John's lover is helped by his faithful friends and colleagues.

Oksana Yuzhanina is the creator of the original idea of the series with a mystical-dramatic storyline. The script for the first season of St. John's Wort was written by three authors at once - Olga Land, Konstantin Glushkov and Sergey Pustynnikov, and the director's chair was taken by Alexander Smirnov, who also filmed the second season of the series. After the release of the screens, the series quickly raised the ratings of the channel and its creators decided to shoot a second season, in which the main roles were played by the actors from the first season.
