The American TV series "Beverly Hills 90210" became mega-popular among young people in the late nineties. For ten seasons, viewers enthusiastically watched the ups and downs of life of teenagers from Los Angeles, until this cult story for a whole generation finally came to its logical end.
Description of the series
The twins Brandon and Brenda, brilliantly played by Jason Priestley and Shannon Doherty, are moving from quiet provincial Minneapolis to vibrant and bustling Los Angeles. There they quickly make new friends, fall in love and face various teenage problems. The series raises the topic of rape, alcoholism, domestic violence, anti-Semitism, oppression of gays, drug addiction, same-sex families, bulimia, teenage suicide, abortion, early pregnancy and many other important social problems.
Originally, Beverly Hills 90210 was conceived by its author Darren Star as a six-part series.
In 1990, Star showed the script for his project to Aaron Spelling, who praised him and agreed to collaborate with Darren. In the autumn of the same year, a pilot episode of the youth TV series "Beverly Hills 90210" was released on American screens, which literally shot up the channel's ratings to the skies. As a result, the conceived six episodes turned into the first season, and subsequently the series stretched out for ten seasons and became a cult for young people in many countries of the world.
End of the series
After the characters of "Beverly Hills 90210" graduated from high school and went to college, the series began to receive negative reviews from critics, who noted that the serious dramatic youth film gradually acquired a semblance of a soap opera. Despite the previous love from fans of the series and consistently high ratings, the creators of "Beverly Hills 90210" decide to close it so that it does not turn into another long-running "soap".
"Beverly Hills 90210" is still considered one of the best TV series about the life and problems of young people.
The series ends with the wedding of Donna and David, who finally proposed to the girl. Everyone is preparing for the wedding - Kelly decides to stay not with Mat, who, as it turned out, also cheated on her, but with the handsome Dylan. Brandon sends a video letter in which he admits to friends that he misses them terribly. Velori and Andrea come to the wedding. During the celebration, David and Donna say their wedding vows, exchange wedding rings and Donna throws a bouquet, which falls right into Kelly's hands, hinting at her imminent wedding with Dylan. This is where the series ends, but its fans do not get tired of remembering the wonderful time they spent in front of the TV screens with their favorite characters.
