The plot of the picture unfolds in the Crimea, where heavy rainfall leads to landslides. This situation is not new to the city's residents, as it repeats itself every year. On one of these days, the beloved wife of the local precinct officer Nikolai Eremin died. Now his acquaintances - Zinaida, Oleg and Igor - get stuck on an abandoned road on their way home and find a car that has flown into a ditch. It contains two corpses and a huge amount of money - more than two million euros. Personal problems and plans do not allow the company to tell the police about the find, for the sake of that kind of money they are ready for a lot, even for murder …

However, it turns out to be not so easy to hide your "treasure", as soon guests from the security service appear in the city, who go on the trail of Igor and his relatives. Nikolai Eremin suspects his friend Igor of the murder of a local resident and his wife, and also doubts the reliability of the words of the visiting security officers. At night, the owner of the hotel where the latter stayed hears their conversation and decides to help a friend from the district.
According to reviews, the film "The Time of Sins" was shot perfectly. Particularly noted are the excellent acting, the gripping plot, and the well-thought-out script.
In the morning Igor, Eremin and one of the "guests" go to the abandoned road to make sure that there is a truck there. Igor's brother-in-law, Oleg, was waiting for them there. Hiding on a hillock near the road, he waited for the servants of the law with a gun in his hands. Meanwhile, the second false security officer ends up at Igor's house, where he takes his wife, Zina, by surprise. After beating her, he learns that they took the money. However, Zina does not know where Igor and Oleg hid them.
Eremin and the "federal" fall under the sights of Oleg and Igor, but at this time they learn that Zina is being held hostage. Having promised to give the money, Igor lures the bandit to an abandoned road, but in the garage the criminal is killed by Eremin's friend, Sergei, and it is he who goes with Zina to help his friend.
After a shootout on the road, Sergei knocks down the second intruder in his car. Igor, Oleg and Zina are tied up and sent to the police. A patrol arrives telling friends that they have prevented the escape from the country of large hijackers, who covered themselves with security credentials. The money is found in Igor's yard, and he and the company are sent to the isolation ward. Thus, chasing money, which supposedly should solve their problems, the family drives itself into a trap, from which it will not find a way out.
