Irina Bogacheva - Soviet Russian opera singer, mezzo-soprano, teacher. The performer was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR in 1976. He is a laureate of the USSR State Prize.
Irina Petrovna Bogacheva was born in 1939 in Leningrad on March 2. Her father, Peter Georgievich, worked at the city polytechnic institute. He was fluent in several foreign languages. Irina also studied them from an early age. Education in the family has always been appreciated. The path to the vocation
The future star did not come to art right away. The girl went to study to be a seamstress after the early departure of her parents from life, worked part-time to help her younger sisters. At the same time, she studied singing.
Margarita Tikhonovna Fitigrof, a soloist of the Kirov Theater, who taught at the Palace of Students' Youth, recommended the talented student to enter the conservatory. Irina followed the advice of an experienced mentor.
In 1964, a singing class student made her debut as Polina in Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades at the Kirov Theater of Leningrad, now the Mariinsky Theater. Conservatory education was completed in 1965.
Even during her student days, Irina Petrovna became a laureate of the Glinka competition. The talented graduate was invited by the most famous musical theaters in the country. Bogacheva chose the Leningrad Kirov Theater.
In 1967, at a competition held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Bogacheva took first prize. A year later, an internship with the famous maestro Genarro Barra began. Irina Petrovna was the first of the Soviet performers-pupils to sing on the stage of La Scala. Critics and audiences alike were delighted with her brilliant performance as Ulrika in Masquerade Ball.
At the same time, the singer's concert career developed. Throughout her life, the world-renowned performer has worked at the Mariinsky Theater. She embodied on the stage the images of heroines who have become masterpieces.
The singer sang the part of Azucena in Troubadours, visited Marina Mnishek in Boris Godunov, became Konchakovna from Prince Igor, Amneris in Aida, Martha Skavronskaya in Peter the Great and the famous Carmen in Bizet's work.
Opera and television
One of Bogacheva's favorite heroines was the Countess in The Queen of Spades. The singer, splendid in the leading roles, is no less brilliant in the secondary roles. Her interpretations by Helen and Akhrosimova have graced various versions of War and Peace.
She created an amazing image of Granny in a production based on Dostoevsky's "The Gambler". On famous opera stages, Bogacheva performed in the images of classical opera heroines. She was applauded by the Metropolitan Opera, Coven Garden Theater Royal, Opera Bastille, La Scala.
Dmitry Shostakovich created a cycle of romances for the brilliant artist on the verses of Marina Tsvetaeva. With great success, the singer performed these works on stages around the world. Also, the creation of Shostakovich was "Satires" on the works of Sasha Cherny. The success was no less deafening.
Irina Petrovna worked a lot on television. She actively participated in programs and films dedicated to her benefit performances. The performer has released several CDs. The critics and fans received them very warmly.
Since 1980, the brilliant singer began teaching at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. In 1982 she received the title of professor. Irina Petrovna heads the department of solo singing to this day.

Private life
