Two years later, Yesenberlin finished primary school and went to continue his education in Kyzyl-Orda. The future writer entered the mining faculty of the mining and metallurgical institute of the then republican capital. A student with excellent mathematical ability drew attention to himself. He analyzed and systematized perfectly. His knowledge of Kazakh folklore did not stand aside either.

Literary activity

The young man was fond of world classics, drew remarkably. The young man quickly became respected and popular among fellow students.

In 1937 student Esenberlin became a delegate to the first Congress of the Council of Kazakhstan. In 1940 he graduated from the institute and went to work in Dzhezkazgan. After being drafted from there into the army, the future famous prose writer and poet was sent to Riga to study. There the war found Ilyas. By the end of 1943, the seriously wounded soldier was sent to the hospital in Kostroma.

After returning to Alma-Ata, Esenberlin began managing the literary department at the local drama theater. In 1949 he worked as director of the Philharmonic. Twice Ilyas was arrested for libel. If the first time everything worked out, then the second charge cost him years spent on the construction of the Karakum Canal.

The rehabilitated activist moved with his wife Dilyara to the Semipalatinsk region. The writer's family had four children: three daughters and a son.

Esenberlin started out as a poet. The poems "Sultan" and "Aisha" were published in 1934. Four years later, the collection "Legends of Daulet", the essay "Tragedy of Birzhan-Sara", was published.

Esenbayev wrote more than forty songs. In 1967 the novel "Dangerous Crossing" about the difficult fate of the Kazakh intelligentsia was published. In 1977 the collection of poems "Stars" was published. After the publication of the novel "Skirmish", the young author was talked about as a new talent. Yesenberlin was awarded the Abai Prize. The young writer became the head of the Zhazushy publishing house.

Creative way

The writer's work is divided into several parts. They were composed of the historical trilogies "Nomads" and "Golden Horde", then there are other books. He has written fifteen novels. The main works of the Esenberlin award are rightfully called the singer of the Great Steppe.

He showed the history of his native land over the centuries. The main goal of all the works of the author was the story of the past of Kazakhstan. The people suffered from oppression. The Kazakhs have survived many bloody battles.

There were also cases in the history of the country when the people found themselves on the brink of extermination. However, people managed to withstand and preserve the land of their ancestors, ethnic integrity. Ilyas Esenberlin made this idea the main one in his trilogies "The Golden Horde" and "Nomads".

The famous writer died on October 5, 1983. He was awarded medals "For Military Merit" and "For the Defense of Leningrad", the Order of the Badge of Honor and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. Ilyas Esenbayev is the owner of the State Prize of Kazakhstan.

In Astana, the modern republican capital, there is a street named after him. The street in Almaty is also named. The central gymnasium of the city is named in his memory. A memorial plaque is installed on the house where the prose writer and poet lived.

There is one in Ilyas's home in Atbasar. A Literary Museum dedicated to his work was opened in Yesenbayev's hometown.
