Early years, adolescence

Irina Adolfovna was born on November 22, 1958 in Tbilisi. She is Armenian by nationality, her real name is Otiyan. Father's ancestors were representatives of the princely dynasty of Amatuni. Parents worked as doctors. Irina's sister, Natalia, also became a doctor.

However, Irina dreamed of a stage. As a child, she studied at a music school, where they noted that the girl's voice has a rare range (3, 5 octaves). Later, Otieva performed with several bands, they gave concerts in their hometown.

At the age of 17, she became the winner of the jazz festival. Irina was admitted to Gnesinka without exams. She devoted a lot of time to education, later began to study at the Pedagogical Institute.

Creative biography

After her studies, Irina sang in the jazz orchestra of Oleg Lundstrem. In 1984, the composition "Music is my love" appeared, which became a masterpiece. The singer began to receive many awards.

At that time, they were wary of jazz, the Ministry of Culture did not allow Otiev to participate in competitions of international importance, it was forbidden to invite her to television and radio. However, the singer received an award at the All-Russian competition in 1982. And in 1983 she became the winner of a competition in Sweden.

In 1985, Irina Adolfovna organized the Stimul-Band collective, and music albums began to come out very often. In the early 90s, the singer had a lot of overseas tours, including in the USA, where jazz was popular.

The singer sang songs for many films, in 1991 she was invited to a role in the movie "Thirst for Passion", in 1993 she appeared in the musical "Revenge of the Jester". In terms of popularity, Otiyeva was even compared to Pugacheva.

In 1995, Irina took part in the project "Old songs about the main thing." Having performed the song "Good Girls" with Dolina Larisa, she gained fame among ordinary viewers. In the same period, Otieva brilliantly performed at a festival in New York together with musicians Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles. In 1996 the last album of the singer "20 years in love" was recorded, she stopped giving concerts.

Otieva began working as a vocal teacher in Gnesinka, she leads a measured life, does not attend social events. Films were made about the work of Irina Adolfovna in some foreign countries.

Personal life

Irina Adolfovna had no shortage of fans, but she never got married. For a long time, the singer lived with Aleksey Danchenko, the director of the group. The couple broke up in 1996, but the working relationship continued.

In 1996, Otieva had a daughter, Zlata, nothing is known about who her father is. After the birth of her daughter, Irina had a romantic relationship, but the singer is not going to marry.
